Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi we are heading to Castlebar on Thursday for our anniversary. I'm looking for a lovely even fancy restaurant for Thursday night to celebrate it. It doesn't have to be Castlebar as I'll be driving anyway. Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Personally I would go to Westport.

Went to Quay cottage there 2 weeks ago and it was A1. No complaints what so ever.

Also I love An Port Mór also, very nice spot.

An Carrig is good in Casltebar but other than that all the good restaurants seem to be in Westport.

As mentioned Port Mór has good grub, lovely steaks & fish. Merlot (Plaza Hotel) has a nice fine dining feel to it with sometimes fussy cheffy food. Knockranny House has won best hotel restaurant award this month and has lovely view over Westport, if a bit quiet. Newport House is also fancy/expensive but I can't comment on the food.

For something more cozy Bella Vita do good Italian & Fish. Sage is also very good and nice friendly bistro feel.

    +1

Been in both in the last few weeks and both were top quality. The Quay Cottages Recession Buster menu in particular is great value.

    Thanks again.
