Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Comfortable for the Argies I reckon. 3-0 with Aguero to steal the show from Messi

    Messi to get a hat-trick

I think at least 3-0 to Argentina

Im going with 3-0 to Argentina. Messi to score 2 and Milito the other.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,202 ✭✭✭el dude

Lost in translation a wee bit there i think.

Ossie wrecks my head trying to understand him, he comes across as a bit of a moody fella, too.

    Lighten up on Ossie, Bill!

Talk about a baptism of fire in the evening show! He should use the idea of restating what has just been said when Dunphy does one his 180 degree turns and completely disagrees with something he said before!

Giles started a good chat with Ossie that led to talking about Maradona and his background. Good to see some chat debunking the "Maradona is just crazy" stuff.

    Nice jersey on Argentina.

I really can't stand that Greek captain. He is such a whinger...

Damn, there was power behind that shot!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭Dean820

Veron still playing after all these years. He must have been about 17 when he played for United. :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

Greece will have to try and score if they want to go through!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Greeks being very Greek. Argies not quite able to pick the lock, but you feel they will. Some good efforts in the last few moments from Maxi and Messi (who appears to be wearing a Greek as a coat for most of the first 45)

god i hope this is the last time i see greece play in the wc

With Greece going out if they lose or draw, I think this is still possible.

IIRC He got South American player of the year last year.

What the hell is Ossie Ardiles saying?

Can only pick up about half of what he is saying.

As much as I slagged Maradona's coaching skills before the WC, he has them playing good football.

Been very impressed with Veron when I've seen him.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Well the vast majority of bright talents from SA are in Europe by the time they are 17,18, 19 and only return when they are 29,30,31.

I think there are some really good players there though and it is an accomplishment to get what Veron has.

who would have thought the best chance in the match would go to Greece

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

veron has a poor touch and picks the wrong passes. Demichelis is playing crap. gives away way too much ball. if the greeks keep man marking messi like this he wont score. kind of boring match IMO

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,177 ✭✭✭timetogetfit

veron is as good as xavi

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,146 ✭✭✭youcrazyjesus!

A top forward is going to leave Demichelis for dead two or three times in a match. He is terrible.

Dull second half. I think Samuel is a bigger danger than Demichelis. He can get caught very easily with back-passes.

Di Maria on...Maradonna must be settling for a draw.

Messi has been nothing short of outstanding in his 3 games thus far.

Only thing missing is a goal.

    Worlds best.
