I've a pretty good idea for an app but no experience of developing one.

If my idea got financial backing i would hire a developer to make it,

Lets take for example the 'next train app' that tells you when the next train is coming.

So that app links up with real time data from irish rail, my app is going to have to be updated in real time also with access to an external website.

also the construct of that app is quite good. IMO

Thanks everyone in advance for your replies.

This would be a free to download app also.

    Rico

How long is a piece of string? You can use a site like rent a coder and auction off the development of it.

hi, I have quite a few apps up on the app store - and originally sold the Dublin Real Time Rail App during 2009 (I don't any more, but the free version is still available as I no longer actively maintain it - too much else on).

Anyway, something like you mentioned (when's my next train) interfacing with a remote server, some simple graphics, a 'utility' type app (from the XCode template) would take a day to knock together. Then another day or so to test and iron out any issues.

Costwise, I'd charge something like 250/day for something simple like that.

    Hope that helps.
