    Hey guys,

Any info on kayaking in the mid-west-cork area, i.e. dumamway, bandon and clon?

    Thanks in advance!:D

The Upper Bandon is probably your best bet :)

Plenty info on it here http://www.irishwhitewater.com/river_guide/river.php?id=267

Holy crap that's over the road from me!
But I was thinking more about clubs that teach or take newbies. Know of anyone?

In the south east, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny mainly we cover all the levels from Beginner to advanced our beginner courses are all ICU level 2 courses.

The swimming is fine everyone wears a PFD so all is good on that front once your comfortable bobbing around in the water if you capsized.

    Cheers

I am in Phoenix Kayak club. (just to be clear)

I can recommend the level 2 course as the best way to get into the sport. Your other option is with Munster Dive and Canoe www.mdac.ie or the H2O sea kayaking in Garretstown. Kinsale OEC used to run courses and probably still do.

Those are your closest options. PM me if you need further info.
