I'd wholeheartedly recommend that you check out an Axe FX. I bought an Ultra two weeks ago and I'm currently selling off all my old amps cause I just don't need them anymore. Sounds amazing plugged in direct for recording and sounds amazing in a band situation through a full range speaker.

Not feeling that tbh. Overdrive is okay but the clean and heavily distorted sounds sound very lacking to me. Just my opinion.

I have a 'Crate' amp and it has the smoothest distortion sound I have ever heard, really heavy, it's years old. Does anyone here have or remember Crate?

So, If I wanted to try and find a proper AC30 or even (don't laugh) a proper vintage Fender Twin, where would I look?

All I see on adverts.ie is a newish AC30 (from what I can tell).

Anyone know where to look locally?

    Thanks again guys!

Locally you might have a bit of trouble, but if you happen to be in London any time soon you shoud check out the Denmark St. area. Vintage heaven.

Thanks man, I lived in London for years and know it very well... If I ever make this band thing work, I'll to there and get into massive debt.

    ;)

any suggestions at all here in Dubs?

    So I bought an amp.

    An Orange AD30 HTC

Now all I need is a cab.

    Thinking Vintage Celestions 2X12

May just save up for the matching Orange 4x12...

The hard part is now over... whew.
