Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For everyone barking on about the ref note that he didnt play a part in Spain's two goals. The ref aint been left with much of an option as the Chilean players seem intent on kicking the living shite out of Spain. Some of them tackles out there were shocking. Must be a kick the fcuk out of the opposition to try win the ball back tactic.

I dont even think they're that dirty... they all just have rockets up their holes!

With a name like Miller he must have some Irish blood in him so I'm claiming him as one of our own. Let's not forget Chile's most famous patriot is called Bernardo O' Higgins.

Ya old Patrcio could have played for us under the grandparent rule, his grandfather came from Galway. So could Bernardo too.

Watch Torres come alive in the later stages, just like he did at Euro 2008. He's still only becoming match sharp and he did create the space for both goals.

Torres aint right - still not fully recovered.

Del Bosque didnt think so on the eve of the tournament.

That injury with Liverpool in the last month of the season messed him up.

The ITV crowd mentioned he had 2 surgeries in the last 4 months of the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,476 ✭✭✭✭Ush1

I'd start Pique ahead of Torres.

    sanchez has been brilliant

    Oh Fabregas... why the beard?!?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,658 ✭✭✭✭Peyton Manning

If Del Bosque knows he's not right why play him though? It's baffling, he looks like he's struggling perform at even 50% of his normal ability.

Why did Brazil play Ronaldo at the final of France 98 ?

But he definitely aint fully recovered hence why he didnt start the first game. I reckon he has been rushed back and could possibly be getting injections.

He doesn't look fit, that's clear to see.

He shouldn't be on the pitch if only half fit tbh.

Torres is notoriously slow at getting back into his stride after an injury. It usually takes him at a fair few games to get his game back. He looks a long way off that now.

Clearly, problem is the beard suits Pique while Fabregas just looks like he forgot to shave...!

Can't see it happening....don't believe a player can get fit during a World Cup, need to be at their peak going into tournament. Pity, it has robbed tournament of some great potential.

Not by any means, probably the better of the two overall, but Honduras have had two of the best chances of the game.

Well with Henry disgraced after 'Le handball' and out of the tournament maybe he's putting himself forward for a Gillette contract!

Spain seem content with the one goal lead - baffling

I have completely lost track of the formation Spain are trying to play. Given the players, I would have thought it was this

    Casillas
    Ramos...Puyol...Pique...Capdevilla
    ........Martinez.......Busquets.......
    Iniesta......Xavi.....Fabregas
    ............Villa..............

It clearly is not though as Busquets seemd to be playing an advanced role, as do both Ramos and Martinez?

Or am I losing it entirely.

Spain need to be careful. 2 goals, one for Chile, one for Swiss and they are goners.

Spain have been terrible 2nd half

lol @ the commentator in the Swiss - Honduras game.

Spain are so frustrating they are not evening trying to finish the game off., there is no urgency.

Agreed....yet another disappointing "top team". Add to the list Brazil, France & Italy.

Don't know who is going to win it this year.
