Was in a barbers in Kilkenny recently. It was on the lower end of High St, almost across from the Italian Connection (is this High St.?) I think it's a Turkish barbers. Couple of foreign guys in there.

Was by a long long way, the worst haircut I have ever got. All I asked for was a trim.

I wasn't paying too much attention during it but I thought he was about half way through when he asked, "Is that alright?" . Took me by surprise a bit. It was still a bit messy and I thought maybe he was asking about the length. I said yes and he took the cape off me.
He didn't brush or comb it, didn't ask did I want any product in it. Didn't offer me the mirror to look at the back. "That's €13".

My fault for paying, I know!

I got into my car and noticed in the mirror that my forehead was covered in cuttings. Thanks for that. Because he didn't even brush my hair my head was also full (full!!) of cuttings.
I got home and had to straighten up my fringe. I then had to level up my locks. The hair on the left of my head is longer than that on my right.
I'll get it fixed up somewhere else before the weekend.

Everybody likes a decent haircut. Don't go to this place!

Any barbers you'd recommend in KK?

I normally use either of the barbers on John St. or the barbers near Sean Byrne's pub.
I don't really have any preference or loyalty to any one barber - whatever is convenient at the time :)

I went for a haircut on Monday. Tried 5 barbers in the city centre, all closed. I was quite perturbed. Is it National Barber's Holiday I thought?

The final place I went to was Uppercuts at the top of the Gaol Road which was thankfully open. Got a nice cut, it's a really good place. I should have tried there first rather than working my way into town after finding my first choice was closed.

My usual barber of choice is That's The Cutting, also on Gaol Road. A really good barber's. I'd very much recommend it.

Then again, no matter where you go, they'll always cut it too short.

One of them was closed down and one was closed due to broken pipes, there's definitely enough barbers open in Kilkenny on a Monday in general.

I would throughly recommend Marble City Barbers on John St.

Been in there a few times now, great cut and great service. Noticed on their facebook profile they have a video up!! Very 70's porn music!

Barbers - hairdressers traditionally closed on Mondays, always in all towns/cities in Ireland.

I do like when people come on here and tell of there adventures in bad business's in Kilkenny. I'll be sure to avoid them. Seamie Bolger was my usualy until he closed, Now I go to Thats the Cutting and they do a good job and you can have a chat too.

Also I'm intrigued, OP care to post a picture if this new hairstyle you have :P

An associate of mine once got his hair done in MCB, i met with him about 20 minutes afterwards up in Padmore with his hoodie up on his head (despite being inside on a warm day) looking on the hat rack for a hat suitable to cover the abomination.

The barber also supplied him with unsolicited Craig David-esque pointy sideburns, much to my amusement.

I was just about to put my opnion in that I thought they were one of the best barbers here. Re: sideburns if he wasn't happy why didn't he say!
