Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Transfer between two FTP servers

    Hey,

I have two FTP servers, and I want to transfer ~80 gigs of files between the two. Both have gigabit connections, so I'd like to be able to transfer between the two without downloading to my PC, downloading from one server to my PC, and then to the other server would just take too long.

Does anybody know of a program or method that I could use to do this? I don't have root access, so installing a program onto the servers isn't an option. I found this, but I'm not sure of it's validity, it seems like a dubious site.

Any tips, or is this even possible?
    Thanks

best option would be to email one of the server help desk thinamajigs and ask them to do it.

I'd guess FTP Dup uses the FXP method - ideal if available but most servers don't allow it by default, for security reasons.

Do you have a shell on the source or destination server? If yes and the files are accessible from your user account, you could use command line FTP.

Or ask an admin to do it as wolfric suggests.

That's what I've done, seems like the only way around it.

Yah, FXP isn't allowed, and I've no shell. My only option is for the admin to transfer them for me.

    Thanks guys.
