They are all big money op. I wouldnt be fond of the mazda diesel. They give a lot of bother but the petrol is spot on. The vectra is a bit basic i think. I know you dont like honda accords or passats but they would serve you better than any of the above.

Stay away from the diesel Mazda, they are a disaster of an engine. I would also shy away from the 1.6 litre Vectra, totally underpowered in a car that size.

    How about a Peug 406:

Or if you can get down to Waterford this one looks better value:

    Passat?
They give a lot of problems....Flywheels, Steering locks, handbrake switch, fuel pumps etc
    Avoid like the Plague!

Cant go wrong with a honda, very reliable, good resale value and last longer than any other brand.

The celica is nice but has big millage. Also its a "boy racers" car so has it might have been driven hard over the years.

The black Mazda looks tidy but appears to be a UK import as those alloy wheels were only available on the top Sport Touring model here which also came with an electric sunroof. If it is a UK car then make sure it has a service history to back up that average mileage.

sound m8. ill see if the garage can prove full history on everything, and if they can, ill head down for a test.

Mileage is now changed to 130,000 (was originally 80,000 on the ad).

More than likely an honest mistake though (130,000km is roughly 80,000 miles).

ah bollocks. 80k would have been a real nice bargain. 130k not too keen anymore.

Yeah, was looking at that car myself and thinking @ 80,000 it was a nice enough looking car but @ 130,000 sadly it's a no for me as well.

    Hi OP,

Have an 05 1.8 Mazda 6 with 226,000 km and she hasn't missed a beat yet. If you get a service history on it, I wouldn't be at all worried about the mileage. All I've lost to mine are bearings for the front wheels and a battery. Not bad going.

completly understand, but not every car is the same sadly. that mazda already has 210k on it, and i do a decent bit of driving from tipperary to donegal often enough, so i need something that will last for 3 years on good mileage.
