Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jonathan Stevenson makes a good point on the BBC's website
You know, man for man, no-one will never, ever convince me that this Germany team has this much more ability in it than the England one. But the likes of Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Gareth Barry just haven't turned up. It's hard to fathom why.

Hard to believe this is a relatively young and green German team. So efficient and well organised, brilliant stuff altogether.

Germany vs. Argie is going to be an absolute stormer, considering they both have average defenses and fantastic attacks

they are caught again! england are really poor. everytime germany break you think they will score.

I wonder why you don't see any Germans dressed as SS Stormtroopers? :)

More discipline at home? Taught respect?

Don't judge all of us though, on the moronic few.

Well I'd say it could well happen and he will bin half the current squad and bring in some hard working Americans.

The best part is the media, hyping the team over and over just setting them up for the inevitable collapse, it's the players you feel sorry for, Heskey is nowhere near the standard required but he gives it his all like any English guy would in the situation.

    But for the media...I lol!

The one saving grace for England is that they have possibly spared themselves being put out by Maradona.

Has Heskey actually touched the ball?

Shame the English media will now focus on the Lampard 'goal' and won't acknowledge that they were totally outclassed in all areas by a superior football team.

Schweisteiger has been immense and probably has two more world cups in him. Will not be knackered as he does not seem to do a whole lot just does all of the simple stuff brilliantly and is always in space. Only 24/25 too, along with that keeper who won the U21 championships last year along with Muller...

    I don't agree with the man-for-man point.

Regardless whether you agree or not, Germany work far better as a unit and without Ballack too.

Was a joke, but i don't see why lawrenson should have his nationality questioned for not ripping the piss out of england, on their national TV station, when they are losing..

That is bitter, that is small minded

Will the English team be as dignified as they were at half time? Me thinks they might focus their frustration on the ref.

surely not, with his middas touch he would surely have found the back of the net.

Its hard to believe how young him and Lahm are, you would think they were 30/32

Well BBC certainly haven't, they have given Germany credit, as some said earlier maybe it might be good that the media focus on the disallowed goal, otherwise forget about technology coming in the short/medium term

Another thought, it is prob only going to get worse for England, this is the end of the Lampard/Gerrard/Rio/Terry generation, as underwelming as they have been[save poor old Rio] , where is the players to replace them?
