Was a joke, but i don't see why lawrenson should have his nationality questioned for not ripping the piss out of england, on their national TV station, when they are losing..

That is bitter, that is small minded

Who said he should be ripping the piss about them FFS? He was nearly in tears after the 4th goal by the sounds of him.

We would have come close to beating ze germans today:D

    that was pathetic.

the fact that Capello is able to put Rooney in a system whereby he has absolutely no effect one the game tells us an awful lot.

    either the players are diabolical.

    or the manager is.

    or both.

because Germany were a whole two levels above them in every department.

    stunningly bad.

but well done Germany. as Lawro said to be fair, you can only beat what's put in front of you.

oh, and Barry is a joke.

Will the English team be as dignified as they were at half time? Me thinks they might focus their frustration on the ref.
Naw, they know they were well beaten. They had to chase the game because of that terrible refereeing call but that doesn't excuse the sort of defending they displayed.

I end up falling in love with the German team every World Cup. Their consistency is insane.

Future is bright for Germany, young team, quality players.

And loads of quality Frauleins in the crowd!

I don't think the playerts are diabolical so much as there are too many similar players.

2-1 down and there was very little the manager can do to change things.

    BBC are hilarious.

It's only now that they acknowledge that England were a shambles.

In fairness, Shearer and Hansen ripped them to shreds and deservedly so. They gave them credit for the goal and Lampards effort but other than that all their credit went to how well the Germans attacked and how bad Englands defence was.

    That was awesome

England need to learn how Germans do football

The premiership is just overpaid football merchants. The bundesleiga kicks its a$$.

and it all shows in the international stage, again England humiliated.

Bye Bye Fabio... who will be the next England manager to get 10million pounds a year salary.

So.. this "golden" generation might still have a EC in them but that was the last we saw of them in a WC.
Cant say i will miss them.

I hope that the english media now finally will see that bigging them up before a tournament doesnt make them win it.
    False hope, i know.

Very disappointing end to England's campaign which never really got going tbh.

Sad to see England out but Germany certainly put down a big marker with that performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

England had two more shots on goal than Germany

A display of counter attack brilliant from the Germans

England looked like a pub team against a team of professional footballers.
Absolutely no ball skills or technical skill whatsoever...
Germany on the other hand...very good technically...they can easily do the simple things in football which England can't even seem to get right..
England are just like the premier league...all hustle and bustle and trying to overrun the opposition...some times it will work..most times they'll come up against a skilled team and make a show of themselves...
    it's a real pity..
and tbh it's prob for the best that this is lampard's/Gerrard's/Terry's last WC..
Their defence and midfield really need new players..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

BBC are being fair they have said that the people who saw them saying the English people are better on paper must think their mugs.

Think you'll find they'll go after Capello. And possible the defense as well.

Overall? England were never going to win the World Cup but going out to Germany 4-1 is a bit dramatic. England have the players, but they aren't a great team. Germany are. Also, the English defence is very ordinary. Ferdinand is over rated, Terry doesn't have the mental levels and Carragher's too inexperienced on the international stage.

And sorry to harp on bout it, but I relly think it's because they don't have as much foreign talent making the clubs side look a lot better than the natiional team is.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Obviously not, but i think they really believed the shíté they were talking before the match. They did think that germans were a poor side and they would win it comfortably

Is the germans team success a direct result of a domestic league, where the best players are all german?

Ah Capello. He is very, very disillusioned
