Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Windows & Wipers not working

    Hi Guys,
I've a 1.6 2002 Laguna. Its been a good car to us, until recently! I had to get the reverse light switch & power steering line switch replaced. This forum was a help to me in sorting these, and some other small issues.

However now there's a problem that has really got me stuck. The rear windows don't work from either the front panel, or the rear controls. The front & rear wipers have also stopped working. They both went at the same time. I tried swapping the fuses about, but still no good. They are both on 30A fuses.

I'm due to be catching a ferry to France in a few weeks, so I really need to get this sorted ASAP. Where do I start?

when you say you "swapped" the fuses .... do you mean replaced them with new ones ?

Fuse fuse fuse. Go to Halfords or any motor shop/dealer and get correct Amp fuse to replace one or ones that may have blown.

I used a known good 30A fuse (it was for the front windows) and placed it in the rear window fuse slot. No good though

some cars have resister's in or near the fuse box.
One of these might have blown.

I had a similar problem with an older toyota, and it turned out it was the resister

All is good again. A friend helped trace the fault to a cracked cable. Whew:)
