    Thats all part of the beauty of the place. Lived that area for a few years, the winters there to me are of beauty. Depends on the individual. I love the peacefulness of a "harsh" winter away from people. You can rent log cabins in the winter in beautiful areas that are out of this world. Imo the most beautiful places on earth look and are great in all forms of weather.
