Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Throttle response question

When my car is fully warmed up and idling the throttle response isn't 100%. The second you hit the accelerator it takes a split second for the car to react. It doesn't seem right because it should react instantly. It’s fully serviced and I cleaned the map sensor and throttle body. Sometimes when I press the accelerator really fast it feels like the car is going to stall just before the power kicks in. Also when driving along in say 4th gear and I drop a gear it again takes a second to react! Anyone any ideas???

    Altezzas are only petrol.

Crack in air intake piping after the MAF or a lamda sensor on the way out (slow reaction). Stupid question but do you have an orange diagnostic light on?

Was thinking it sounded alot like a MAF problem too. OP, try disconnecting the MAF and see does it get better/different.

Thanks for the replies guys! No cracks anywhere and no light on in the dash. I'll try disconnecting the map sensor and see does it make a difference. Cheers!

Sounds very much like the throttle body or a sensor attached to the unit,

some of them have 2 or 3. Or perhapes one of the coil packs attached to the spark plugs.

If no joy maybe get a diagnostic test done, might tell you what exact sensor is at fault.

    I was thinking coils.

Came across something similar with a fella who had a Passat,
turned out to be part of the loom attached to the coils.

I had similar problem with 5series. Local garages kept changing MAF, Lambda....
at the end brought the car to BMW turned out to be camshaft angle sensor.
