Clomid & GP's

    Hi I was just wondering if there is anyone in the same boat as me at the moment. Over the past few months i have been diagnosed with Polycycistic Ovaries after countless tests but as i dont have health insurance i am now on a 3 year waiting list to be seen in the hospital. Although this stinks as i have been trying for my second over 2.5 years. I have been reading on this that some people's GPs have actually perscribed Clomid.

    Although i have asked mine she wont perscribe it and wants me to wait. As if waiting is not hard enough without this added worry. So do i change GPs and try another or what.

    I'd love some advise in this as i am currently stressed enough without this added stress too.

    your doctor will give you precise instructions for how you should take clomid and may want to monitor your response through blood tests and ultrasound.
    GP's do prescribe it. Mine offered but then ultimately referred me to RE because of some hormone unbalances.

    Forbidden topics of discussion

    We unfortunately do sometimes find ourselves with a problem regarding some issues and no amount of warnings or requests to keep things civil in relation to certain issues have worked, so we simply don’t allow discussion or posting pictures of these things. The list below is by no means set in stone, we can add things to this as time goes by, so it may be no harm to check up on it every few months to see if it’s changed.

    * Pictures or links to pictures of Porn
    * Pictures or links to pictures showing nipples and/or genitalia
    * Child abuse/under age/jailbait/Lolita stuff
    * How to do illegal things (this ranges from software piracy, to swindling the Revenue Commissioners)
    * Pictures or links to pictures of self harming
    * Pro anorexia pictures and websites
    * Trepanning websites
    * Bestiality
    * Ordering medications online.

    Have you asked how much it will to see someone privately. I have a relative who was recently told they would be around three years on an urgent waiting list and when they enquired about private clinics they were seen the next week for the grand total of €150.

    Public/private medicine is run really strangely in Ireland with the same consultant doctor having both public and private clinics and they do each part-time. The private clinics are usually pretty affordable so almost everyone goes privately which means that the doctor spends more time in private practise and the waiting lists for public grow very long. (Imo it's a complete outrage and the system needs serious overhaul, but that's for a different thread.) If I was you I'd ask just who much a private consultation will cost and if it's at all doable find the cash.
