Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In hindsight this is one occasion where the bookies have got it very wrong.

USA not out of it yet but they'll only win it if Ghana stop playing like Uruguay did earlier.

RTE are terrible today. As are the USA, Ghana really needed to capitalise on that but hav'nt yet. The Yanks won't give up so anything can happen in the next 45 minutes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,630 ✭✭✭steelcityblues

Both teams seem to be anxious, knowing now this is the knockout stages!

Makes for a better second half though!

USA is just asleep. No passing, giving the ball away. Letting Ghana run straight through. And Ghana has got some very good misdirection and footwork. They seem to have a lot to play for, the last African team on African soil in the first African World Cup ever. They are Right in USA's face, always putting the pressure on. They earned the half.

USA need to make some serious turn around in the 2nd half or my name is Gonorrhea.

Know I'm in a minority, but I think RTE have not been that good this world cup

US have not been good at all in the first half, I thought rte are supposed to tell it like it is.

I hear Vuvuzelas again, it must be time for the 2nd half...

Their better pundits left early too!

How the f could he not score that.

    really unfortunate.

Oof! Ghana defence giving me chest pains.

I reckon USA are playing with fire with a 3 man midfield though.

I think they obviously read all the positive media about the punditry, and now they seem to try too hard as a result particularly Bill.

Why? He's the exact same type of player as Fletcher, but Fletch is infinitely better.

always nice to have a back up plus I think he's better going forward than fletch

Couldn't disagree more. Fletcher shows for the ball far more often, and contributes to United's attack a lot more than he is given credit for (see Milan away last year).

That Jonathan chap is a clown.

    Really?!

Ghana get forward well but never really have the finishing touch.

Am I only the one with the feeling that there could be a dramatic last minute winner from Landon Donovan, runs to the corner flag. Everyone jumps on him. When he eventually gets up he whips off his jersey to show a t-shirt with 'That's For You Bianca' emblazoned on it?
