Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No matter how many fights Werdum loses from now on he'll be able to say he's the guy who beat Fedor.
Maybe Fedor was too complacent going in to the fight

This has probably fcuked strikeforce over a bit since Overeem/Fedor woulda been huge

Can I just say...Fedor lost. Fedor lost. Fedor. Lost. Fedor didn't win...in a fight. He lost.

Fedor had a fight. And he lost. Who?

    Fedor.

    Fedor lost.

That was the way he was going to lose.

It was a double - armbar and choke.
    His face went blue apparently.

Sure Mohammad Ali is considered the greatest boxer of all time and how many did he lose?
    Plenty.
It always intrigued me that he was said to be the best cause he won the heavyweight championship 3 times. Well I always thought if he was so good he would only have to win it once!

    This is lol.

First time I ever bet on Fedor he loses.
Had a double with Cung Le.

In fact all my World Cups have lost, practically every single one.

    Must stop betting on sports.

I don't have a clue tbh. Don't like boxing, watching it or anything.

I just checked wikipedia and he lost 5 fights.

    Submission of the century!!!!

Beaming for Werdum, he was so happy after the fight jumped out of cage running around, Fedor wouldn't even look at him when he went straight over to show respect after the fight.

That fight reminded me of Royce Gracie going through all the big fellas at UFC 2. BJJ always wins (mostly) :)

I wouldn't like to be Fedor's next opponent, he's gonna come out swinging or do you think he might even retire??

EDIT: I just watched the Cyborg Finney fight, so uncomfortable watching that, Finney took some amount of punches to the face, fair play't her for lasting. Cyborgs last knew looked like it hit Finney's ....ah...chestal region. I actually winced. That Cyborg one would have little problem standing with some guys, no doubt!

That was brilliant, i did say on radio earlier than if he was to win it would have to be by submission. Amazing fight, fedor smelt blood and swarmed. How long that choke was locked in was another thing. I agree best thing dana can do now is get Werdum back and have Fedor come to him.

Fantastic night for MMA, why i love the sport

It was always on the cards that he would lose at some stage.. I think it would be impossible for a mma fighter to go his whole career undefeated.. Hopefully there is a rematch.. Id hate for werdum to resign for ufc and thus avioding a rematch with fedor and and ufc and werdum milking the win for all its worth... To do justice for werdums win, he needs to fght fedor again.. anybody can get lucky once..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 516 ✭✭✭Jayo_M

Great quote from Fedor afterwards. I was surprised Fedor stayed in Werdum's guard so after Werdum's first submission attempt, he just left himself open for too long. He probably thought Werdum was hurt more than he actually was. I think Strikeforce's biggest headache is who to match Fedor up with next. Big Foot Silva maybe? Or maybe he'll fight in Barnett in Japan?

That was a beautiful traingle. He even had the armbar locked as well. People saying Fedor was too eager to follow him down after dropping him but that's the way he always fights. He got caught and it was gonna happen eventually. Just glad it was someone like Werdum and not that meathead Lesnar that finally broke his winning streak. The pressure of keeping up this crazy winning streak is now gone. Come back stronger Fedor, you are still the GOAT.

"The one who doesn't fall never stands up. It happened that people made me an idol. But everybody loses. I'm just a human being. And if it's God's will next fight, I'll win.”

If anything that quote proves Fedor deserves better than the fans he is typecast with.
