Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Brendan Keenan certainly could be accused of being a whistler blower... "The banks losses will be 5%".... And still introduced to us by RTE as an Economic expert....

Who is this guy with all the emotion of a sat nav?

And works for a media company that needed a 400 million debt write off!

I was hoping they'd spend a bit more time talking about Nulty and his "indiscretions". They moved on too quickly.
Well you see, it's done and dusted, Nulty has done the honourable thing and resigned, unlike most politicans, it's when they don't resigned, it festers and drags on and on, that tax cheat from Wexford should have done that long ago, Nulty a moment of madness, but he is paying for it now.

I'm not sure it was just one moment of madness though. Not according to some newspapers this morning.

Apparently they tracked the GeoLocation of the messages sent to the girl, and the location showed up as being the Dáil.. then it was put to him that it was him sending the messages and he had no choice but to admit it... I have a feeling if it was Mick Wallace, that Marion and guests would still be talking about it in the second hour of the show.

Agree. There is nothing more that can be said other than the usual ranting about social media being the cause of all undesirable behaviour.........as if everyone was perfectly behaved before Facebook/Twitter etc.!

I absolutely agree, but he has resigned, that's why the Garda whistleblower controversy is still in the news after many weeks, because the persons concerned haven't resigned, the Garda Commissioner and the Minister for Justice should have resigned, but they are still there and the controversy drags on.

The whole real estate sector is a seedy business... My old man went to bid on a property a while back at a local property auction... The minute he walked in to the place he spotted the professional shills... He started the bidding, then the choreographed bids pushed the price higher... There was a break in proceedings, so he took the opportunity to say goodbye to the shills and he (the only real bidder) drove away to leave them "fight it out" between themselves..

As I heard her hysterics, I imagined Bill still lying in bed talking on the phone to someone saying "Why buy a dog and bark yourself"..

*disclaimer: this of course could not be the case as Bill will have been up since about 3am and have already done a 10k run and 1000 pressups*

They certainly would, because Wallace hasn't the guts to resign, he should have resign when he was exposed as a tax cheat, if he did, he'd be history, that's my point.

    All I'm hearing is begrudgery.

If you can deliver 350k listeners two mornings a week, you'll get a similar reward.

Clearly she is providing compelling radio listening for a big chunk of the listening nation and bringing in the advertisers that ultimately fund much of the less commercial and minority programming on RTE.

But, it's a prime slot which is likely to catch weekend travellers. €295k is patently inflated when you consider that Joe Duffy, whose show is the second most popular in the country and on five times per week, is paid €300k.

The long-running principal host of BBC Radio 4's Today show, John Humphrys, is paid €450k for 150 shows per year (6-9am). Today is the most listened to R4 show, and is a slicker and more engaging equivalent of Morning Ireland. It has a listenership of 7m+. One imagines, therefore, that Humphrys is one of the channel's best paid. Is Finucane's salary justifiable in comparison?

Hardly surprising given that there are only two people in the world who have the gift of infallibility........the Pope and Morgan Kelly.

They should replay the interview that Miriam O'Callaghan did with John Pilger this morning, instead of talking to this guy.

It was superb - and thankfully Miriam omitted her usual silly/fatuous questions asked in a fake little girl voice & let him talk. An amazing man without doubt & boy do we need his "alternative analysis" nowadays.

I wish I'd been a fly on the wall when Gilmore had the Russian Ambassador in. I bet he went straight back to the embassy and had a great laugh about it :D

Are these idiots for real? They talk about the Europe response while that which they speak of was the US response, the real movers with respect to Europe in the Ukrainian issue are the Germans, not one of them mentioned the Germans not even the supposed expert professor

Once again our experts only understand that which they can read in English.

Low brow even in academia it's clear.

    Struck me as well.

Marzie would have a bit of African flying experience I'm sure.

How she would not have been aware of those things is not credible.

Stick her on a 'Zambia wings' B727-100 to Kitwe and she'd be pretty well clued in.

    Zambia wings*
