Oh dear god, Brendan O'Carroll really IS sitting in for Marian this weekend! Just heard the ad, I thought people on here were joking!

    :(

What an absolute kip that place is. A rotten nest of the well heeled replacing/standing in for each other, while our brightest young head for the airport.
That's why I gave up listening to their bull**** a long time ago.

I wonder if he'll tell us how he's getting on with the new airline he's setting up, or the new political party he's supposed to be forming, in between interviewing all of his family.

Jesus, I thought I was the only person who remembered the airline proposal he floated.

Quick Google and it seems he kept on about it for about three years solid - Aerin was the name. And he kept the Ltd company going for an age too: https://www.duedil.com/company/IE314159/jetset-airlines-limited

I'm old enough to remember her groundbreaking "Women Today" programme, although I was only a child at the time. It seems to me that working only at weekends has definitely blunted Marian's journalistic edge. She just seems to be only marking time and collecting her paycheck these days.

Which would be fine if only that paycheck were a liitle slimmer and more in line with her current role in RTE. The ruin of many a family business comes when every member of the family thinks they should receive the CEO's salary no matter what their contribution to the success of the business. It is thus allowed to fail because there is no member of the family strong enough to rein in their sibblings. This is how RTE seems to be operating.

"Trying to fill Marian's substantial shoes."
You'll never fill her chair, you're about 5 stone too slim for that.

    tears.

Not genuine tears though, but tears of the worst kind.

Forced tears brought on to elicit sympathy from others.

If she considers hiding her lack of wealth from her kids as a problem, I'd hate to hear her if she had a real problem to deal with.

Kinda agree ... they aren't even kids they are teenagers - odd example to be showing them!

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

How many "charity" outfits are there at this stage? Are they not just doing a scatter gun effort, would they not be better off combining their efforts?
