Mark Williams has won the first event of the new season beating Stephen Maguire 4-0 in the final of the PTC Championship in Sheffield.
The tournament included the first maximum break of the season by Londoner Kurt Malfin.
The next PTC event begins on July 9th.
Interesting to note is that 75 professionals and 79 amateurs contested this event, a great turnout considering Britain is in the middle of the heatwave and there's a world cup on at the moment!

What was the prizemoney do you know? And are there any plans to televise these events?

There are twelve of these events spread throughout the season until next march when the top ranked 24 players over the twelve events play in the televised finals weekend.
Each winner gets £10,000 (not bad for three days work!) with the eventual winner winning £60,000.
Of the twelve events, 6 of these will be played in mainland Europe.

Very good. I approve, Mr Hearn!
