Security on Wireless Network

    How do you set up security on wireless broadband at home? Have a TP link wirless router with BT broadband.

    At the moment its unsecured which is probably a bit silly. Thanks

    Consult the router manual. It's different for each one. Don't use WEP, use WPA or WPA2 if available.

    and a key like (but not this one)

    write key down in clear letters in pencil or biro (not felt tip or roller ball as those fade)

    put it in router and all your connecting devices
    keep it save or if the router is in a private place taped to bottom of it

    Don't use a real word or phrase, even with numbers subsituted. There are programs that can check 100,000 of those.

    yes. That's how keys work.

    Everything that needs to work together has to have same "password key"

    If it worked with different keys, that would show the security on the WiFi point is broken. Like a Bathroom anyone can walk into.
