Hello everyone and thanks in advance,
I am looking to have some work done on my sako 308, a new barrell to be exact.
i have looked through the previous threads that talked about gunsmiths but are these qualified gun smiths and can they be trusted to pass proofing.
i do not want to hand my firearm/ life over to a here today gone tomorrow

John Green in Kilmacow and Fergal White in Athlone are the two gunsmiths used mostly (solely). They are both excellent, well established, and licensed gunsmiths that are responsible for most of the fine custom rifle seen on these pages. All their work would be guaranteed and would easily pass proofing IMO.

Give them a call and talk to them for details.

We've done this before, and we're not doing it again.
If the respective fans of the handful of commercial enterprises in this very specialised field feel the need to sling muck at each other, they can do it someplace else.
Neither can people come in here making sideways swipes about things that allegedly did or didn't happen to third parties in relation to the workmanship or professionalism of a particular named person, especially when the named person isn't in a position to defend or explain themselves here.

The OP has been provided with the information sought, it's up to them to proceed as they decide.

Thread closed, and the same will happen to any other threads on the subject that plumb the same depths.
