    The reason why you were sent a cheque "close enough" to the total amount is because they want you to settle at that. Are you willing to settle at that? Personally, as a matter of principle, I wouldn't but you'd be the best judge in this case.

    Well originally they were only offering me 50%, so I said that we could go back to the original agreement for the original amount and drop the extra pages.

    They thought I was bluffing as the original amount was alot less than what they actually owed - obviously though they didn't want to loose a huge chunk of their website and relented into paying about 80%

    Good result as you actually did not get less than originally agreed, but less than the extra you charged for the extra amount of work you did (which was presumeably done without a firm agreement as to the exact cost).

    Calling clients bluff like that has to be done sometimes. In fact quite often in fact.
