Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Another which bike thread...

Hi guys, sorry for bringing up another which bike should I choose thread but just needed some advice and this seemed to be the best place to start. I have a MTB at the moment that I use for commuting to work. I've been suckered into doing a triathlon next month and although I know I could finish the cycle leg on my own bike I'd like something faster. I can't afford to upgrade myself to a road bike but have been offered a loan of 2 different bikes by a friend and my brother. My brother has a Giant FCR3 (which as far as I understadn it is a flat bar racer). The other bike is a Carrera TDF and I know Halfords don't exactly get the best reviews around here.

So my question really is would there be a significant difference between the 2 bikes. I have about 4 weeks to take the bike and train on it. Thanks and apologies if this is long winded!
