    Hi all,

My family (and extended) are heading for a weeks holiday in the old village holiday homes just outside killarney. The group includes 3 kids under the age 6 and 6 adults. Obviously we are going to take in the national park and head to a beach etc, but I'd like to build up an itinerary from people familar with the surrounding area. So categories of activities include:

    1) Eateries: Nothing too costly, some good family friendly establishments
    2) beaches?
    3) Picnics?
    4) Leisure complexes (if the weather isnt great!!) Any family discount offers for the week?
    5) Family activites? e.g. Bowling etc
    6) Sight seeing?

Anything else you care to suggest? Thanks for your time and advice.

    W.

Kennedy's Pet farm is lovely for the kids, on the Cork road out of Killarney. Also there is another wildlife farm, Coolwood (sp) on the same road. Also you could hire some bikes and cycle in the national park and on out to Muckross.
Day trips to Kenmare, Sneem, Ring of Kerry.
Crag Cave in Castleisland is nice too (30min drive). They have a nice big indoor play centre for kids.
There is a nice playground in the national park, just across the road from the cathedral in the town.

I would second Rossbeigh and Inch for beaches.

Tralee is not too far away either, I think there is bowling there. They also have the aquadome. Lots of beaches there too.
