Does carraig on suir have a decent nightlife on a friday night? (Not fussy would just like a bit of a crowd, but the more the merrier!)

If not where is the closest down that does?
ALSO what is the Carraig hotel like? Is it the only hotel in Carrig on suir????

    Thanks!!!

No nightclub anymore on a Friday night which means the crowd out will be very small.

The Carraig is the only hotel open, The Bell and Salmon is closed.

However, there is a few B+B's around.

Closest place to go for a good Friday night crowd would be either Kilkenny (45-50 mins away - nightlife is always good), Clonmel (20-25 mins away - not usre of Friday nightlife), Waterford (25-30 mins away, nightlife is pretty good although might be quiet enough on a Friday now as a lot of the nightclubs have closed down due to some crowd buying out the Tweedy group who are now in administration) or possibly Thurles (45-50 mins away - not sure of what a Friday night out up there is like though, sorry)

Saturday night is the only half decent night in Carrick, and it's poor in comparison to any of the above in my opinion, although thats probably me been biased as I'm sick to death of going out in the town.

    Hope the above helps :-)

Carrick wouldnt the best place to go out especially on a friday night your best bet would be waterford or Clonmel.(Kilkenny is a little to far and thurles you need a platinum credit card to pay for that taxi in neva mind tring to get out of it) I havent being near waterford on a friday in a long time.
I think the junction festival is starting this weekend in clonmel so their will be a few gigs on around the town(usually a few bands on anyway though). Its about a twenty minute taxi ride.

edit: that was pointless just saw ur reply to the last poster.

cusacks on the main street will have a dj.
o cealleachains across from the post office
the strand bar down towards the river from the town clock
noras , the gate bar. brilliant evry night. right under the town clock
the jockey , down the end of kickham street
these are all the best bars in the town. always a crowd in them

    Nope, nor on Sundays. .

It opens on an odd Friday when they get DJ's in. I think Fish go Deep played there a few times. (I'm not sure how big these are but they pulled a good crowd the first time).

    Stay away from the jockey!!!!

Or go in for one drink with a full bladder and you'll see why you were told to stay away

The jockey is only a nickname anyway it's not the name over the door so you'll never find it!

I like all of the other pubs mentioned above but I'd feel weird going into Noras if I wasn't a local. But I am a local and I love the place :D The Tannery around the corner (near Supervalu) is not a bad spot either.

If you find yourself on the wrong side of the river you can't go wrong with The Whistlers Inn either!
