Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Goalkeeping disaster from Romero, and awful defence. Argentina not looking mentally strong, Di Maria's petulance, Otamendi's stupid tackles ( twice now ) and an awful pass from mascherano.

Looks like the germans have done their homework, memorised the textbook and then written it all out again a couple of times, they look like a team with a gameplan and on a mission...

Argentinians had an early lead last time. Germany will need to take their chances

Germany tactics seem to be to let the opposition come up very high on the pitch, and then when they lose possession launch a fast counter attack. Its similar to what Greece did in 2004 but they do it better and it is working very well for them.

    That free kick was messy

"Mick Jagger in the crowd.....Leonardo Di Caprio behind him....certainly the game to bring out the stars....and Germany have shone brighter this opening half hour"

    Classic Hamilton!

Don't underestimate how well the German defence did there to rush out!

I hope Tevez gets sent off

Germany need to get their foot on the ball, keep a hold if it and see out the half.

I agree, he started off really well but hes looking a bit dodgy now. I'd say the Germans want half time

Anyone think Maradona will have the balls to take off Messi and bring Aguerro on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

The ref needs to show some balls, the argentinians keep roaring in his face and all he does is tell them to calm down?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

    Loew is a tactical genius

Went a little flat, but the Argies have started to show for this one. An early goal in the second half might really see this one become a hum-dinger.

Really hope for an early equaliser to set up a great 2nd half. In a bar
in Spain full of Germans, really making me dislike them!!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

I know that they left United in not the best ways, and thus I am biased against them, but frankly Heinze and Tevez are so ****ing annoying in this match, abusing and shouting whenever things don't go their way, frankly because they are not good enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,169 ✭✭✭JohnnyRyan99

Knights of Cydonia on BBC.. Quality!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 765 ✭✭✭ultain

Argentina will nick this...the goal was another howler, Germany are playing well aided by woeful defending...if Argentina get a early equaliser, the germans might kack themselves. "Football is a funny auld game"

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,630 ✭✭✭steelcityblues

Germany should be at least 2-0 up, and this is starting to remind me of Brazil at HT yesterday!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,081 ✭✭✭thegen

Lol at the UTD fans not liking their ex players for shouting at refs!!!!!! Lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

I'm surprised how well Argentina's midfield were able to play themselves back into it. If Germany continue to let themselves fall into the counter attacking pattern they'll be caught out imo. They need a good spell of possession to break the Argentine spirit.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,169 ✭✭✭JohnnyRyan99

Dont see how so many still reckon a Argy win.. Dont get me wrong they could, but the Germans have outclassed them tacticaly all day and i would be shocked if there to lose this here, Robbie Keane the last player to peg Germany back and stop them for goin on to a win in the World Cup. Argentina lacking that quality in attack.:pac:
