Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Printing & Paper sizes

Hey, again I'm not sure if this is the correct forum. Does anybody know a bit about printing?

I have put together something which I want to print it is 7.6 x 20.3cm. The reason it's this size is because I got the template online and assumed that it was a standard papersize. :o

So my question is, can printers usually print to non standard paper sizes and is it possible to order non standard paper and envelopes?

I would start again, but I quite like the layout as it is.

If it would be easier to use standard, what would the closest size be, with a similar shape (ie long and tall, as opposed to almost square)

    Thanks

Print it on A4 and trim it down.

Thanks, but I can't do that. It needs to be professional looking and it needs to fit into its envelope perfectly without folding etc.

You would be better off laying your graphics out on an A4 page, 3 up and printing and then getting them cut on a guillotine. This will give you a professional finish.
Alternatively, you could get the paper cut before hand and then print them this size. It is totally possible on a home printer, you just have to change the settings in your print properties. (This will vary depending on the model of your printer)
Daintree Paper on Camden st (www.daintree.ie) will precut any of their papers to whatever size you want for free.

That is how the professionals do it...

Sorry, are you printing this yourself or getting it printed professionally?

If the latter, depending on the quantity, it might be printed 8up on a sheet and guillotined to size, if the image runs to the edge of the design you might need to add 3mm bleed all around to facilitate this.
