Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

FIFA will ban them from a further 2 for the gov interfering.

Maybe David Cameron can do the same with the English team.

Wouldn't that cause FIFA to suspend the entire Nigerian FA because of political interference a la Sepp's warning to the French president?

What is banning meant to do... make them more shíte?

Yep. It's either the current team unhindered, or no team for two years. Remember Togo? (Wasn't FIFA who banned them, I know, but same precedent: government interference)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Silly reaction, unless they do a swift U turn, FIFA will come down on the Nigerian FA hard.

Isn't this the same guy who a couple of years ago said that he planned on getting all of the Nigerian national team players to play behind closed doors for 12-24 months (i.e. taken away from their clubs and...you know...competitive football in general) to prepare for this World Cup?

Absolute moron if so. If we've learned anything from ITV's coverage of this World Cup it's that people who know nothing about the game shouldn't be allowed talk about it in public.

Special presidential adviser Ima Niboro told reporters the decision by Goodluck Jonathan will "enable Nigeria to reorganise its football".

I think it is an excellent idea, we need more mavericks like this in the game

Is the President one of these types, who has never kicked a ball in his life?

If so, he should f*ck off back to the real political business!

President suspends the team for 2 years, FIFA steps in and says hey, you can't be interfering, suspends team for 2 years.

    How odd.

John Fashanu is on SSN now explaining the decision, he sounds like a bloody propaganda minister.

After England's showing perhaps the FA should do the same :)

Little mad alright , didn't the Chinese do something similar at one stage because there was rioting at a game ?

Fifa will expel Nigeria from world football unless the country's government overturns a two-year ban of the national team by Monday 1700 BST.
