Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Folks

My parents were on holiday last week in Portugal and accessed their Hotmail accounts from the hotels computer.

When they got home they realised that all of their mail contacts (me included) got an email with the following message

ad3q34 1 hola! que tal estas? mira esto: http://www.espana2010.net dgdg4536778

Now I'm no rocket scientist but it appears to me that the hotels computer had a virus.

My question to you is do you think they may have to delete their hotmail accounts. I've done a scan on my own computer, which is the only one we use at home, and nothing untoward has shown up. I havent received any messages from my own contacts to say they got a message from me, like that above, on it

Gmail has a page where you can check where your account has been accessed from, so you can spot any unusual activity. Hotmail might have the same, worth looking into

Change the password immediately. Same goes for other online systems they may use with the same password.

Malware on the hotel's computer is a very likely explanation. Change the password of the compromised Hotmail account immediately. I'd also notify the hotel about it.

No your email address cannot be infected. Change your password as the most they'd be doing is spamming by grabbing your password and logging in as you. (or something along those lines)

Not really their fault - it could happen to anyone. I know quite a few young 'uns who have been caught out just the same.
