Havent even played a match yet. Spent the last hour or so just hiring staff and setting up training schedules lol Trying to sign Aly Cissokho to solve that LB problem and Henrique to add dept in the midfield.

I had a similar fail in my Blackpool game a few days ago. Signed Khouma Babacar for 22 million as a strike partner for Lukuku who's 23 now and a beast for me, thought the two of them together with the power, pace and finishing abilities they have would be a deadly combination....Unfortunatly a few days after signing him I got..

"Romelu Lukuku has sustained a damaged cruciate ligaments in a friendly match, he will need to see a specialist he is likely to be out for 11-14 months!"

My tea nearly went through the screen....No idea if this is going to effect his career now...on the bright side thank god I signed Babacar as he is having a great season as a replacement.

Havent played FM since 09 but have 11 on order.. was wondering how good the Brazilian striker Marquinhos (was with Palmeiros in 09) is in this game?? Cos he was unstoppable in 09... thanks

He's muck in this game. He was one of those players that was blown out of proportion based on hype

Started out as usual as Ireland manager with my Trappatoni type tactics meaning a lot of 1-0 wins....

Season 2 Barcelona approach with 130 million (happy days) so buy up Suarez , Babacar, Afikeenev and Santon (2nd time lucky as i lost my previous save which was in January). Battled it out all season with Real Madrid along with qualifying for Euro Championships with Ireland. 5 games to go and coasting i lose to bottom of the league, Suarez Villa and Bojan cant score Babacar is carrying the team and Messi gets injured. Play Real in 3rd last game and beat them 2-1 coming back with two late goals and win the league with 4 points to spare.

I had Real in Spanish Cup final and Champs League Final which i totally robbed both on penos with Real all over but unable to score.

Got England Romania and Ukraine in the Euro Group stage, beat England, and drew with Romania and Ukraine so qualified in 2nd to the knockouts. Beat Switzerland and France to get to final were i met Spain who thumped me 3-0 i didnt even have a shot on target haha

Season 3 starts great losing the Spanish Super Cup to Real and the European Super Cup to Ac Milan. Also just lost Villa to a torn groin muscle for 3 months and Kerrison to a broken ankle so iv 3 strikers and in the 1st 4 games none have scored so it could be interesting il post more when i get the chance

i cant get the handle of this game at all....think it might be my transfer policy. new patch decided to be anzhi makhachkala...edited them to give them a sugar daddy....they have after all been taken over by a billionaire and signed r carlos and diego tardelli irl on massive contracts.

anyway so i begin in july and the team is terrible struggling down the foot of the table, with my massive funds i buy up half of south america....ganso, d'allesandro, mercier to name just a few...also van wolfswinkle.

bought a total of 10 players in total, combined total bout 115...with all this sa flair i thought we would now start to rise up the leagues but no went on a horror run, where i couldnt buy a win...with 5 games to go i was 2nd bottom 5 points adrift of that team pats beat in europa like last yr. had a massive match with the champs rubin and demolished them 4-1 with d'allesandro on fire and the striker for colo colo in the copa libertadores(cant remember his name not at comp) bagging his first goals since joining. managed to survive on last day with my argentine defender scoring in 80th minute to send the dinamo(stadium) faithful into raptures....onwards and upwards :rolleyes:

pre season and invested in ronaldinho and valdivia off palmeiras..also a brazilian jan koller and a nifty czech right back from sparta prague. continential qualification a must? well after 3 games where i couldnt bag a win or score a goal(this despite having more flair than bloody barcelona) i resigned. couldnt take it any more!!!!! went on holiday there and left comp on so be interesting to see where they are when i wake up....appointed that german guy doll as their new coach.

i found it hard to find tactics to use with these players...since 95 per cent were south americans i tried to make the pace slow and short passing but didnt work...



*ha i signed jucilei and just seen they signed him in real life haha

I'm having a moan on the SI forums about a transfer I did last night

I'm Celtic and I play my saves without first window budgets so when December rolled around I decided to make a move for Rafael Toloi, I offered €6m over 42 months, surprised that it was accepted, thought they would have held out for ~€8m tbh. Then I got to negotiate a contract, I clicked use existing terms, took out his 15% wage rise, his min release clause & changed his squad status from key to backup just to see what affect low balling the agent would do to the demands.

The agent accepted those terms (no agent fee and €15k signing on fee on a €6m transfer) and maybe I thought maybe the player would reject those terms. No the player accepted terms that were worse that what he was on.

Started up a new game with the new patch as Man City; yeah, yeah, I know but I wanted to buy Paulo Henrique!

Checked out Arsenal's squad to see any changes to them and Koscielny got a huge boost to his tackling. He was 13 in 11.2 and now is 18 in the new update if memory serves me. That was the main reason I sold him on in my game in 11.2.

Loaded up Man city saved game and realised that I had chosen over 10 leagues, all the subleagues and large databases (my laptop struggles with 3 top leagues & small databases ) and it's taking ages for it to get out of preseason. I think if I try a match my laptop might explode. My shortest ever game in FM/CM.

mayb he took a cut in wages for career progression? who does he play for?

No, I've signed him before on previous patches of FM2011 & FM2010 and he never took the same wages and as a backup player. Also the agent wanting no fee on a €6m deal and not even trying to negotiate for a better deal for the player. He hasnt fallen out of favour and he is dubbed the new Lucio (i know those titles dont usually count for anything but it does in his case) Trust me, this has all the hallmarks of a bug.

I scouted him out several times and its well below what the scout estimated, what the scout estimated is what I usually paid him in previous saves on earlier patches.

The player arrived and surprisingly he was on a month to month rolling contract despite agreeing on a 3.5 year deal. I had to offer him a new contract straight away to avoid him being poached on a free transfer.

Scored on his debut, same day as he arrived at the club (1st Jan) against Rangers in Ibrox after 1m 20sec

He's already repaying my faith in him!

Whats the agents stats? Willingness to tout players etc.

He looks good btw, gonna check him out when I get some cash again!

Its a bug though, I'm chatting with the SI QA guys and they have my save so they can look at it for themselves. They werent able to replicate it themselves which obviously points to a hard to replicate scenario and they probably will never be able to fix it. I've offered him a new contract, he signed it but his value is

Lads this could be a stupid question but if anyone could help it be great because I couldn't find anything on FM websites/forums or the steam website/forum. But how do you know if you're steam is automatically downloading the patch?? It doesn't say anything about it on mine in my downloads or anything, and when I click on "new game" I only have patch 11.1 and 11.2, so obviously havn't downloaded it yet.

Check Preferences and see what the latest version is. Should be downloaded.

Well, the tester got back to me, he is able to replicate the problem with that player only, not any others that he's tried. Its been referred to a coder for a explanation.

It *might* be solved for FM2012's initial release :rolleyes:

check that steam is set to auto update the game

Pretty sure it is because patch 11.2 downloaded without me having to do anything, I'm in my apartment in college though and the internet is fairly rubbish, would that have anything to do with it?

Are you running in offline mode?

No it's online, but it says down the bottom "no connection" but I'm not sure if it says that all the time (when I'm at home).

Is there any way I can activate lower leagues during a game or do I have to start again?

I fecked up and forgot to activate the lower German divisions. It's really come back to bite me in the arse now in 2014 because I could really use my reserve team to keep players fit :mad:.

they say you should never go back....well i went back to anzhi 2 years after i resigned and woah could things be any more different....finally the brazilian flair has emerged...ronaldinho and kaka are in on bumper deals and ronaldinho is in the best form he has been since barcelona 2006.

got knocked out in europa quarters tho to cska...doesnt matter tho was a year too early(ronaldinho and kaka are not eligble)

If i was to hazard a guess this may have happened because you signed too many players in a short period and they didn't have time to blend properly.
