Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He really is one of the most interesting irish sportsman to listen to, very understated. No mad antics or boasting or cockiness but confidence oozes from him.

missed it.what did he say regarding tour and how he expects to perform?

Only caught the last couple of minutes, but from what i caught he seemed confident without being cocky. Sounded happy with his form all year, that he feels the extra work done over the winter has meant he's now more consistent. When I tuned in he seemed to be referring to his status as team leader, and how he now had an obligation to perform every day, and not just save himself for the occasional good effort.

Eoin asked him if he felt that his good performance in last year's Tour meant that the other teams would have him 'marked'. Roche seemed to think that though they would be more aware of him, the big teams wouldn't be considering him as a threat to the likes of Contador, Schleck etc, so seemed to be implying that there would still be opportunities for him to get in good breaks.

He was then asked about Vino & Basso being allowed back in the sport after doping, and he just reiterated that he thinks dopers don't get long enough bans, but that he's sure the likes of Vino doesn't care what he (Roche) thinks about him anyways, and he can only concentrate on his own performance.

    Thanks for that.
If anyone else has anything to add on what he said earlier in the interview I'd be interested. He is 33/1 to get a top ten finish. Thinking of perhaps throwing a few euro on him

They are good odd's. I would have thought top 20 poss top 15 were his aims but just needs 1-2 very good days to snag a top 10.

Where did you see those odds? Id like to have a piece of that.

I asked Paddy Power for a price on him winning a stage and they only quoted me 7/2:( I was hoping for about 10/1. They think i know something they dont i reckon. 7/2 is much too short.

7/2 is about right I reckon for bookies odds on it. That's odds for winning one or more stages I think BTW?

The way they see it he might have 20 opportunities or so to win a stage.

I was guessing they might offer 3/1 on it

Take each stage on average (ok I know there are TT's and mountain stages) there's probably 30 guys with a good chance of winning them - Roche would be one of them.

If Roche has a realistic chance of winning one of about 10 stages - its like getting 35/1 for each of those stages with odds like 7/2 for the entire tour!?!? innit?!

If you so sure they got it wrong why not offer your own odds and set up a bookies!! ;-) ?!? specialise in cycling !!

They were on sporting index. Down to 20/1 now. Best odds on top ten can be found on website oddschecker.com I find it useful

Ah well, I was in a hurry and pretty reluctant to set up an online account anywhere. More out of interest than anything else!
