Uruguay v Ghana

Thought I'd post up a thread here.

I've got Uruguay to win in the 90 minutes @ 11/10 - few bob staked on it.

What other bets have you lot got for it?

A few stats courtesy of Opta & Yahoo
Uruguay are unbeaten in their last six World Cup games, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

After winning three consecutive World Cup matches for the first time since 1954 Uruguay have made it to the quarter-finals for the first time since 1970.

Luis Suarez has now scored as many World Cup goals as Diego Forlan, with three each.

Uruguay have won the last nine games in which they have been leading at half-time.

On the last 22 occasions that Suarez has found the net in all competitions for club and country, he has finished on the winning side.

Luis Suarez has scored 55 goals in 61 appearances for club and country this season.

Asamoah Gyan is only the second African player to score four goals at the World Cup after Roger Milla (who scored five).

Ghana are only the third African side to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup after Senegal in 2002 and Cameroon in 1990.

All three of Diego Forlan's World Cup goals have come against African nations.

Uruguay have scored three goals in both of their two World Cup encounters against African sides.

I just need Brazil to do their part firstly and win then likewise Uruguay. If that happens = €130.20

    Suarez scoring anytime = €48.66

I might just cover myself and have some on Ghana to win or draw or DNB.

Bit odd there is no live treble btw

Draw in 90mins, reckon it will go to penos, also I may well lay Forlan to score in 90 mins if it's less than 2.1 on betfair.

I have a funny feeling Ghana will go through. They arguably have had tougher matches than Uruguay so far and have the whole of Africa behind them. 6/4 for them to qualify for the semis looks good in my opinion.

There is value with Ghana for sure but I'm not throughly convinced by them. They played Serbia and won with a single penalty, they lost to Germany, they drew with Australia, and scraped by the USA.

I know the continent will be supporting them and the ratio of Ghana fans to Uruguayans in the stadium will be phenomenal however, I really hope that the South American side will have the nerve and quality to put the Africans to bed in the 90 minutes.

    We shall see.

Forlan 15/8 in PP to score anytime, 6/5, 5/4 in most other places.

Suarez 23/10 in PP to score anytime 11/8 - 13/8 most other places.

Have them backed to go through. There a strong physical team, good players and I think theyll get through.

Silly €2 bet of the day

    Half time/Full time
    Holland/Brazil

    Doubled with

    Half time/Full time
    Ghana/Uruguay

A lot of people say that Ghana are a very physical team. I'm not really convinced. Their strongest player and captain John Mensah who is nothing spectacular, is a doubt for the game.

Anyway, I'm getting really excited ahead of this game!

Ghana DNB @ 2/1 I'll have a tenner on that.

    One live treble as well.

Suarez score + Uruguay win as I said above = 48 euro.

Only one bet for me in this.

Gyan to score anytime. He's been good to me so far !!

    Odss are 3/1.

He has 3 goals already this WC and takes the pens. Great value imo.

Uruguay are not losing this match, no bloody way.

Ive a little bit on AT scorer double (Sneidjer 4/1 and Suarez 15/8) so hopefully he has his shooting boots on tonight. If not, a 1-1 draw will suffice as ive few doubles on the 1/4 finals and thankfully Holland (2-1 @ 12/1) came through... got to love the Dutch:D

They shouldn't. This is however, the WC 2010, so Ghana should shade it 9-2. :pac:

Uruguay to win to nil is tempting me at 9/5, even though the bollixes let me down in the last round.

I think this will be a score draw so I'll back that, Suarez to score first, Uruguay to win on penalties. Small stakes for interest.

    Disappointed so far.
Uruguay shouldn't be losing this, except it seems the Ghanaians have learned how to deal with Forlan's deep role. An early second half goal, and a 66th minute winner for Uruguay will do me just fine :D
