Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Probably better off sticking this in the main Motors forum, not many BMW heads post in Modified Cars :)

Moved to main motors as you'll get a better response.

genuine mv2's etc from a 5series won't fit a 3 series because of different offsets and stud pattern, however lots of places have copy/fake 172/mv2's to fit a 3 series

    try auto-alloys

dont do it! thise wheels were an upgrade option for the E46, yours is an E90, go with the MV3's if at all possible.

ps - nothing wrong with the wheels, i like them but they suit the E46 better imo, they dont even suit the E60 either and they were standard M-Sport on them too!

Does changing the alloy wheels cause the tyre pressure monitoring system to start throwing out warnings?

yes, especially when swapping from 16" to 18", but its an easy fix.
basically the TPMS measures the radius of the turning wheel so all you have to do after you swap wheels is to reset the TPMS and it will save the new rolling radius.

if the pressure in the trye drops, the rolling radius changes, and hence setting off the TPMS.

Good to know, the stock 16" alloy wheels on the E90 look lost under the arches.

Thanks so much for your advice,
I forgot to mention that I also want to retire my runflats.
They take from the pleasure of driving the car,
Does this affect the alloy allowed on the car?
As in can I now use alloys designed for the old e46 or even a m5 style?
I have included a picture of the car with the present original bmw 16 inch alloys, Id appreciate feedback and opinions on for example:
The m3 style alloys v's 5 star spoke alloys?
Thanks again, and sorry for my ignorance:o

why would you want E46 or M5 wheels on your car? its not an E46 and its certainly not an M5. in my opinion you should stick to the current style of wheels that suit the E90.

225M replicas would be my choice if you are going the replica route.

they are the 335i wheels in the above link.

Personally I'd go with BMW Performance double spoke 269 alloys or BMW Performance double spoke 313 alloys.

    Both stunning sets of wheels....
