just throwing this out there what would anyone think of Drogba at arsenal ?? if he was avail in the summer i would defo consider him,hes a proven match winning striker in the premiership and knows what it takes to win leagues,he maybe getting on but defo has 2 more seasons in him

he'd be better then bendtner, chamakh, vela, emmaunl thomas

Was just thinking the same when watching the disgracefull way he was treated in the Champions League over Torres, I personally would love it but would imagine I may be in the minority.

Watching yet another abject and boring performance from Man United last night really does make me think this season is the one that got away. If we'd beaten the mighty West Brom and Newcastle we'd be coasting. Does my head in to see such an average team above us in the league. Even taking into account the handy refereeing decisions they've got, we still should be coasting this league.

Not sure about that. Every team has their 'if only' stories this year. If we're doing so bad, how are we ahead of last year's double winners Chelsea, not to mention free-spending Man City? It looks like the division has tightened up and the lesser teams are capable of beating the bigger teams. The gap between top and bottom is a lot less than in other seasons and those that get relegated will probably have reached a points tally that would've kept them up in previous years.

    Just saw an interesting tweet.

Would any of you swap Hleb back for Rosicky ?

    I probably would tbh.

We had one in Eduardo but left him go. To be fair, it didn't look a mistake at the time as he struggled to come back from injury. The biggest mistake was not replacing him with a similar player.

We should keep both Chamakh and Bendnter as they have different qualities. Chamakh carried the side in the first three months, never getting a chance to adjust.
Too bad what happened with Eduardo's injury. Just before that it was getting to be a shock when he missed!

No way. I think Rosicky will probably go this Summer, but Hleb is one of the most frustrating players I've ever watched. He just ran down one blind alley after another.

Gonna miss the first half of the NLD...

First time I haven't watched a full derby game!

I'd put Almunia, Rosicky and Denilson on the 'must sell' list.
Sell one of Chamakh, or Bendtner and get in another (proven) sriker because class as he is I doubt RvP will ever last a full season without at least one major injury set back.
    Keep Daiby as backup.
    Promote Lansbury, Ramsey and JET.
    Sign somebbody like Hazard.
Fix Vermaelen and Djourou. failing that buy Sakho.

Would you have a preference? Honestly don't know how anyone could want to keep Bendtner over Chamakh after what his form at the start of the season.

You forgot Denilson out, preferably replaced with a top midfielder. Also I'd say JET would be better off with another loan spell in the PL.(could continue with cardiff if they go up)

Agree with most of this, and I would add Denilson to the 'must sell' list.
Bendtner would be the one of the two strikers I would let go.
And also buy Sakho or Gary Cahill or someone of a similar calibre regardless of Vermaelen and Djourou's fitness, you will need 4 centre halfs in a full EPL season.
Apart from that we're sorted :p

Woops, meant to put Denilson on the 'must sell' list too.

Guy on twitter i quoted earlier Jamie also feels Sakho will 100% be off in the summer if PSG don't make the CL.

TBH I think there is a lot more to come from Bendtner but he is mostly wasted on the right wing. I'd say he could be a great foil for RvP if Wenger would put two up top more often. This insistence of playing just the one up top is a bit annoying and has severely hampered both Bendtner and Chamakh. Chamakh had good form early in the season playing on his own up top but has fallen out of favour since RvP returned. Bendtner gets stuck out of position too. Neither has been given the opportunity to forge a partnership with RvP.
TBH I don't think this Fabregas in the hole, which is essentially sacrificing an extra striker, is his best position either.

Cesc in the hole when he is on say last seasons form ( 15 goals and 15 assists ) is a perfect role for him. High enough to contribute with goals and still not greedy enough so it allows him to get the assists. However this season we are seeing the half fit Cesc in that role with only 3 goals and 11 assists. I would much prefer him playing deeper as he could still get the assists but we could have another player filling that role who could contribute more than 3 goals.

Is it a fitness thing with Cesc though or is he subconciously already at barca?

I believe fitness, he's burned out and hopefully doesn't go away with Spain this summer. However you always get the fans who crawl out from under the bridge saying sell him he doesn't want to be anywhere near the club.

Cesc wants to win stuff with Arsenal no doubt, i don't think it's too much of an issue of him leaving this summer. However i believe they could be famous last words within themselves.

Difference for me though is that Chamakh has shown he has something while Bendtner hasn't.

I got lashed out of it for being a pessimist when I said it first but I told ya we had a batter chance of finishing third than first. This team is capable of winning absolutely nothing.

as a liverpool fan and as much as it pains me to say it, thats title number 19 for United now :(

    UNLESS, chelsea win at OT

We have had a two goal lead against Spurs twice in the league and ended up with 1 point. Its just unbelievable at this stage.

I turned to a United supporting friend of mine after the Carling Cup final and said, "Oh well, that's our season over now!". He just looked at me and thought "What kind of fan are you?". One who knows exactly what to expect from his team and all the tell tale signs! Disgusted with our league run since then, but by no means surprised!

Disgusted how our team panics at the first sign of trouble. Just no organisation at the back and panic panic PANIC!

Only Arsenal could go undefeated in the league in 2011 but still manage to loose ground on United.

See that's it. you get accused of being a pessimist etc. But when you know exactly how we're going to collapse it's not pessimism, it's just accepting the limitations of the team/manager.

Massive strengthening is needed in the summer. As in £50M+ strengthening.

He won't do it though. It's like he'd be admitting he was wrong all along not to splash out surely?

Second half was painful. Like most Aprils I just want the season to end at this stage. And a productive summer. No idea what that even entails any more.. Too much to change.

Given we were out on our feet after about 55 minutes a draw isn't to bad. Looked absolutely dead after that. Thought Szczesny should have had a free kick in the build up too the 2nd Spurs goal but what can ya do.

    Seriously pissed off.

Instead of buying in players in the transfer window, we could buy a pair of balls. There's enough pussies and dicks in this team that has no balls.

Wtf was Cesc doing with 8 minutes to go at 3-3 holding his head low?! He should be spurning on the team, telling them to get forward. He's the CAPTAIN! I really do wonder how much pride is there being captain of The Arsenal, when with 8 minutes to go, and you're drawing, you think to yourself, "We're not gonna win this".

And as for Walcott in the box?! WTF was that about? Pause... pause... hold the ball... pause... repeat until some Spud c*nt takes it away from you. We should have taken our chances and won that game 5-3. Instead we poxed it and ended up with a draw. Thank god I support I support The Arsenal Club, because that "team" are a bunch of spineless f*cking cowards. Roll on the next team please. The one with Captain Jack. Someone who seems to give a f*ck at least.

    Gah!

Aye, shame about the penalty though. Made some class saved after.

Song was very poor, we try go through RVP too much, he doesn't keep it enough of the time.

    Somehow not as effective though.:D

Pretty much our average points tally for the season though. Just not good enough at all at all. It would be easy to say get rid of xyz and buy abc but I really don't think it's that simple. Very few of our first teamers aren't good enough. And that was close to full strength tonight. It's the mentality and attitude that needs to change. Despite talk of it, I don't want Wenger to go. In my opinion that's the most depressing thing for me... I don't know what we need to change.

we try go through RVP too much, he doesn't keep it enough of the time.

No it just bounces off him, if it were Bendtner we'd be going ballistic.
RVP is useless at holding the ball up.

We need to apply to the FA to let us start games with a 2 goal lead. Call it special treatment for teams that lack balls or the ability to see out games. Like most things these days with Arsenal, I wont get my hopes up about transfer activity in the summer. Will probably only see a couple come in, with about 4/5 leaving. But, we'll be mentally stronger

Wenger must stay !! I can't stress the disaster that'd come if he leaves.

    Legend of the club.

But he has to go if we wants to keep that legacy.

    Agree Wenger must stay.
But he must correct the problems that the rest of us can see.
If he refuses to correct them, then he must go.

He keeps talking about our mental strength.
One thing we most certainly are not is mentally strong.
I wonder has anyone thrown away more points from leading positions?

    Goals:

    van Persie 18
    Nasri 15
    Walcott 12

    Chamakh 11
    Arshavin 10
    Bendtner 9
    Fabregas 9
    Song 5
    Koscielny 3
    Vela 3
    Diaby 2
    Sagna 2
    Squillaci 2
    Wilshere 2
    Eboue 1
    Clichy 1
    Djourou 1
    Lansbury 1
    Rosicky 1

So the top 3 all on target tonight. Pity about the defense.

We're in massive danger of slipping out of the Champions League places if the status quo is maintained. United, Chelsea, City, Liverpool and Spurs will all be substantially stronger next season.

Arsene gets this summer to show he's waking up to reality otherwise it'll be with a heavy heart that I'll be against him.

    Really?

    Surely they can't be as cataclysmic as ours though;

    4-0 against Newcastle
    2-0 against Spurs
    3-1 against Spurs

Any I'm leaving out? They're sizeable leads ffs.

For me its not so much the whole trophy thing, its more the fact that the team is so spineless and weak. It makes sooooo many mistakes every single game.

Arsene aint gonna change and no amount of spending in the summer is gonna change this team around. It'll take a huge overhaul of the entire squad over the next few years imo :(
