Looks like we're not linked with Sanchez anymore - why the hell not?

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_6991534,00.html

Udinese have confirmed that all five clubs interested in Alexis Sanchez have made offers.
European champions Barcelona, spacer.gif Manchester duo City and United, Inter Milanspacer.gif and Juventusspacer.gif have all made their moves.
City had been leading the charge for the brilliant young Chilean and their bid is reported to be the best in terms of finances for Udinesespacer.gif - but the player will have the final decision.
United have entered the bidding at the final stages, with Sir Alex Fergusonspacer.gif seemingly unwilling not to try and land a player he has admired for the best part of a decade.
Juventus are keen to make a marquee signing ahead of the opening of their new stadium - but reports on the continent suggest it is Barca and Inter who are now leading the chase.
Udinese's transfer consultant Stefano Antonelli, who helps oversee all their major deals, confirmed to Sky Italia that they were now looking at their options.
"There are five clubs who are doing everything to get hold of him: Barcelona, Manchester City, spacer.gif United and two Italian clubs," Antonelli revealed.
"The offers have all come from these clubs. We don't want to create a bidding war, but he is the big name on the transfer market at the moment and everyone wants him.
"Over the next few days we should learn where Sanchezspacer.gif will go. We wanted to keep hold of the player, but when there is an important offer, it should be evaluated fully."
    Favourites

Antonelli admitted he did not know where Sanchez would go, but he feels Barcelona would be the logical favourites.
"All the clubs we talked about have a chance of signing him, but right now my feeling is that he's more likely to go abroad," he said.
"Barcelona's very powerful push on to the scene has changed the scenario somewhat."

    F**cking finally.

    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Chelsea-join-race-Alexis-Sanchez-of-Udinese-also-target-Manchester-United-Manchester-City-Barcelona-article748254.html

We can outbid United easily enough, at least match City and Barca only €45m to spend before player sales so they may be reluctant as well and I know they want Fabregas.

Made the amateur mistake fo going out last night and work is now like hell. Too many tequillas = a very sore head to be in work.

Please Chelsea give me some news too make my day, any news will do to take my mind off this hangover.

Also Taarabt would be ok dont know if hes good enough at EPL level, he very well could be a Charlie Adam of sorts and have a good season and make his big move next year. Time will tell.

9 points thank you very much.

Although if the_monkey was here it would be 0 points and the new manager to be sacked fter 3 games while we battle relegation. :pac:

As more of an optimist than the_monkey, I'll take 9 points, a couple of hattricks for Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku with assists from Sanchez, Mata, Sneijder and Lampard along the way.

Hiddink manager of the month for August.

    ;)

    Bring on Stoke.

    Good news re signings.

Belgian starlet Kevin de Bruyne is ready to sign for Chelsea, skysports.com understands.

And Anderlecht have also finally confirmed that they are in negotiations with the Blues over Romelu Lukaku.

De Bruyne has just helped Genk to the Belgian title and the 19-year-old is regarded as one the best young midfielders in European football.

Chelsea have long been tracking him and now skysports.com can confirm that a deal is being discussed and looks set to be concluded.

De Bruyne's agent Patrick de Koster has told skysports.com that the player looks destined for Chelsea, but as part of that he is more than happy to move to Anderlecht on loan.

"Kevin is ready to step forward in his career now, he has done what he needs to at Genk and is ready for the next step," de Koster told skysports.com.

"And Kevin wants to move to England."

Chelsea have been tracking the midfielder for a number of months, and de Koster confirmed that they were de Bruyne's first choice, despite interest from the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

"He knows Chelsea have been following him for a long time, and Chelsea would be his first choice, I had meetings with other clubs - although nothing more than on a scouting level, but he knows what can be achieved at Chelsea," he continued.

Chelsea's plan is to send de Bruyne on loan to Anderlecht, which looks likely to smooth over their deal for Lukaku, although de Koster insists it is not officially part of that deal.

"No, that is not the case with this," he said of the link.

"Kevin, though, is happy with the prospect of joining Anderlecht - he has stated that himself.

"He knows Chelsea have a history of this [loaning out players] and if you do well you will get your chance.

"And, yes, although he would benefit financially from this move, he is young and this is about his career and sporting opportunity."

    Blues option
De Bruyne himself has revealed that the chance of joining Chelsea and then being loaned to Anderlecht is appealing to him.

"I have had time to think about my future and I would love to join Chelsea, but the important thing next season is that I play," he said.

"And with Chelsea there is not that guarantee, but there would be at Anderlecht and they would be ideal springboard for me.

"I know Genk are in the Champions League but they must get through two rounds anyway, and if I can improve sporting wise and obviously financially, then I hope Genk will not put any obstacles in my way."

Whilst all sides deny that de Bruyne is directly linked to the move for Lukaku, it is no doubt aiding Chelsea's negotiations with the Brussels outfit, who have now for the first time confirmed talks are under way with the London giants.

"There are still a long way to go in the negotiations," said Anderlecht general manager Herman van Holsbeeck.

"But we are indeed negotiating with Chelsea, but there are other clubs we are talking to."

Reports in Belgium suggest both deals could be struck this weekend, but de Koster told us he does not know when they will go through.

"It could happen in the next half hour, it could take until August 31, that is football," he concluded.

    .

Balls :( Flights are 9.99 each way, working out at 19.98 and then taxes added brings the total price up to 99.97 or something. :(

I really wanna go to the west Brom game on the 20th August, my birthday is the 21st August so it would be a great present. Now if ye all want to have a whuip around for me 'll send on my bank A/C details so ye can transfer funds, thanks. :pac:

    I
always thouught Forssel was a good player, he reminded me of Ole Solskjaer in the way he played and was able to finish from nearly anywhere and with either foot.

That seems to be the jist of it alright, I pressume its too get De Bruyne more game time rather then sitting on our bench and as the article states, could make the lose of Lukaku not so serious when the have De Bruyne for a year.

I'm not sure Genk would be too happy if he joined Anderlecht for a season. Also it has been reported that De Bruyne will not got to Vitesse, could be a stumbling block. I hope it happens as he seems like a great prospect. Also in todays market she should represent great value (Although I haven't heard of a transfer fee quoted, but I can't imagine it being as outrageous as some recent English transfers)

De Bruyne doesn't want to be loaned out to Vitesse (because its a step back) but also not to Anderlecht.

First of all, Genk and Anderlecht are rivals. It's in the spirit of the club to dislike everything about Anderlecht and because De Bruyne is a youth product of Genk, he has the same attitude.

Second, Anderlecht used to be a big name in football but at the moment, they have a pretty crappy team. And it's about to get worse because their top talent (Lukaku) is going away. Although they have done some decent signings so far, they will have a really though time to compete for the championship next year.

Third, De Bruyne is not the only talent in Genk at the moment. Courtois (GK), Vossen (ST), Ogunjimi (ST) and to a lesser extent Toszer (MF) have all established a good name for themselves this past season and they are being followed very closely by a lot of clubs. HOWEVER, they have all said they'll stay for one more season. So there's a very big possibility that De Bruyne wants to stay with this team if everyone else stays as well. They'll be a huge contender for the championship next year.

And lastly, Genk will play CL 4th round qualification next season and Anderlecht will 'only' play Europa League.

We'll know more on saturday when all parties meet.

I know Josh is only a young'un but all the talks of midfielders coming in most make him wonder whats his chances of agme time next year.

I'fd love if he went on loan to an EPL team and was to play games or better still, get game time with us. Although the latetr looks less likely to happen this season.

P.S. that figure sounds about right and TBH would be a bargain too, getting one of Europes hot prospects. As stated by Sgt. dont think he'd go to Anderlecht. Only time will tell though.

The sky sports interview with him seems to show he dosent mind going to Anderlecht one bit as he says Genk have 2 rounds of qualifiers to get into the champions league, so dosent seem to rate their chances. I think he only really needs another year to maybe bulk up a small bit and add some muscle for the premier league!

    :D

Hes still a beast though and i'd go as far as saying our most improved player. Considering he started average that is, I think he will be the driving force for us in midfield for years to come, he has some engine, his passing still alcks a bit and his first touch can be a bit heavy and sometimes he just wants an extra touch but hes improved and his goal against Man City was one of my favourite of the season. :pac:

    Video added of said goal.

I agree, one of the few players who was consistently good during our "bad spell" He showed some flashes of brilliance throughout the season, looking forward to seeing what he can do this season, could easily become one of our most important players.

Totally agree, he has the ability and is one for the future for us. Was one of our best players in mdifield for the last few weeks of the season when Essien and Lampard went missing for games.

Actually with Ramires, Alex, Luiz and Lucas Paizon to come, we have 4 players who could very well represent Brazil in the World Cup 2014.

    Cool.

Good to see we are closing in on securing the services of the two youngsters De Bruyne and Lukaku.
My question is, will these guys and Josh and Danny be given the chance at first team football, or will they be in and out. I think if they are to be given a proper chance, some of the older squad members will have to be shed over the summer. (Namely Yuri, Malouda, huge question marks over him in particular I think, and Anelka, although it pains me to say that as I've great time for Anelka.)

Well Gourlay deffo said that we would develop youth, so thats got to be Danny and Josh as arent they the closest in first team quality?
I expect them both to start in the domestic cups and warm the bench for most of the league start. Josh cant expect too much action, given his age, but Danny will champing at the bit.
I guess it depends on how they all do in training for Guus
