Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This would be a good season.

Chelsea win the League and Champions League.
    United win nothing.
The underwhelming imposters that are Villa get relegated.
    Liverpool continue in obscurity.

Actually. That just might happen. :)

acc to a chatter on CFC website we're in negotiations for a third player, a midfielder. Either Mccarthy or Leon IMO

Is that James Mc Carthy? and who else?

Waiting on the fee to be agreed, it was only a matter of time though TBH.

The third player I have been told is Dimitri Payet from St Etiene, but Luiz and Torres are the 2 main priorities.

Payet turned down Chelsea, quoted as saying he wants to go to psg.

So what was all that about personal terms, image rights etc.
I thought all the details were thrashed out hours ago.
So it could still fail on personal terms then?

Not too fussed about Matic, he had the talent but not the temperment, wasnt he in a bust up or something?

It seems like SSN muddled it up, the "fee" was the image rights.

    Either way its looking good.

If the 3rd player was McCarthy i'd be delighted!

    Was someone telling porkies earlier?
Imagine that. He's been in about 7 helicopters today.
    Hope the medical goes ok:p

    Care to explain that.
Image rights are negotiated with a player not the vendor

I would imagine its got something to do with all the advertising that liverpool have with torres in the ad, Posters, websites ect....

Take good care of Torres, if you hurt his feelings I swear to god !

That has zero to do with transfer fee
You sell a player his image rights go with him. Again nothing to do with the vendor

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭amiable

Torres is obviously main man now and Drogba will play second fiddle to him

Seemingly not according to events today, BBC said it was Image rights that held the deal up, like you say players usually have their own deals ect but he's not in charge of what the club (liverpool) do with him as regards the clubs own advertising....

Not necessarily, Carlo loves his diamond.

IMO you can't pay 50mill and not play him in his best position

Chelsea should be looking along the lines of Torres and Drogba up front with two attacking wingers.

    Something like;

    .................Torres...........Drogba....................

    Malouda...............................................Anelka

    ..............Essien..............Lampard...................

If you went and tried to effectively overpower teams it'd cause havoc imo.

he may have to make a few guest appearances off the bench first.
Carlo won't automatically drop Drogba at the tip of a hat.

Oh, simple, it goes like this.
The players come out of the tunnel and line up.
As they go along shaking hands, the opposing goalie shakes Anelka's hand, (slight quiver), next in line is Drogba (Knees start involuntary shaking) he then shakes Torres hand, breaks down and runs off screaming like a little girl:D

    We are the FAMOUS CFC!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Drogba wont be dropped for Torres, not a chance ;)

Also about the fee, it doesnt matter its sorted.

Wait until 11pm and we can confirm if Torres and Luiz are both Chelsea players.

Yeah makes no sense, I'd say they are playing hard ball saying he is still in portugal? Could they fax his contract over and do it over the phone and wing it on the medical

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Sturridge is definitely a loan move.

    chelseayouth Chelsea Youth
RT @lee_clayton_: David Luiz removed from plane to sign paperwork to be lodged with PL. Then he will fly to London. Deal done. No panic

    FFS!

    BBC says this

1955: I was speaking to a football agent last week, and he told me that if clubs wanted to wrap up deals in time to beat the 2300 GMT deadline for transfers, they really needed to have the player undergoing a medical by 2000 GMT so as to get the assessment done and dusted in time to get the required forms off to the Premier League. Consider this your five minute warning people.

it finished with "on loan to Bolton"

Masssive "thanks be to foook". Like Danny, think he will be class for us, great experience for him too, hopefully plenty of first team football, then down the line, back to the bridge to partner Torres up front.
    nice!

Cheers Gonzo nearly had a panic attack there.

Luiz is going to vital as he can play anywhere across the back.
