    Hi Folks,

We have been just looking at houses at the moment and I was just wondering if I could get your opinion what what the real Value of these hosues are. We are particularly interested in the 3 bed which retails at 335k ...We have been to view and they really are nice. Also in your opinion if what price do you think that these may drop to this time next year. We are currently not intending on buying at the moment but we are currently trying to get a picture of the market and what may come of it...

To be honest, they strike me as quite expensive.

Comparing (roughly) like with like, I chose Swords. It's listed as being a slightly less distance from the city centre (though that could be debatable), and has better bus services than Rathcoole. Now these are 2nd hand homes, but click on the links below to take a look.

Fair enough Swords is probably not seen as being as desirable a place to live as Rathcoole, but I think there's a bit to fall yet.

Having lived in Rathcoole, and working in Citywest - I can say that the transport links are crap!!! They are finishing the LUAS to Citywest soon though. Which will help a good bit. The PROs for living there are : basically in the country, village feel and you're near the M50. And it's great if you're heading off for the weekend, as you're just beyond the bad traffic to head down the country. CONS: If you work in town, your commute will be a nightmare, I travel against the traffic every day (from Inchicore) and I'm so glad I'm going in the opposite direction. It's looks horrendous from my side of the dual carriageway!

    many Thanks
