So it's that time of year again. 5 best music photos to be submitted in the hope of getting into the exhibition. There's only 15 photographers who will get through which is better than 60 I have to say. It'll be tough getting through now.

i've done it ever year so will be submitting some pictures to it again this year i expect

I would sincerely hope that the fact they have less photogs that get through means they will have prints of their work and have a good gallery on show as opposed to the joke that it was last year.

Mind you I had no complaints about a few free beers on opening night.

Looks good, might be worth putting a few shots together to submit. I'm guessing seeing as it's a music fest they've got to be music related. Just, like, gig-shots? Or can it be a range of subjects?

anything music related. i don't think shots of swans or sunsets will be selected for a music festival

One submission last year had a topless man on the street with an Elvis quote tattooed on his chest. Stuff like that can count too.

At the same time they also accepted a picture of loads of tomoatos up close

I remember hearing about that one.
That said it seems a bit tighter this year - only 15 allowed in, it has a well respected member on the judging panel and it's got a nice, big sponsor in Bulmers this year too, so should be a little more organised!

Can't be too long now, the band list is up on State.ie now

Took a while last year between the bands being published and the photographers. Can't remember what it was like the years before. Don't think it was too long though?

I got the e-mail confirming I was selected while at Electric Picnic last year so it could be the same again this year, stressing to get the mobile phone to log in to mail and not crash.
I remember being so excited to find out I got through, then I found out everyone I knew who entered got through as well:(. Can't wait to see who gets through this year and what pictures were selected.

in 2008 they had already picked as i remember being in Belfast for Flaming Lips and had to submit the biog altho the event itself was mid Sept.

I just heard off a little birdie today that none of the pictures have even been judged just yet. Could be a load of blarney, but you never know. If its true, they really are cutting it tight!

Well one person has announced on Facebook that they're in.
Loreana Rushe, no surprise there really, but no word for me yet... Or anyone else I know that entered.

I didn't make it:mad: Loreana is someone to be expected to see in this.

Now that the results are coming through we'll have to show each other what we submitted.
