Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just wanted to say a big thanks to all the good folks on the boards.ie photo forums. I only joined very recently and have felt very at home here. I've been on a few other forums, but this to me is the best by far - it seems to be a group of people who enjoy photography and let newbies join in.

I have done more about sharing my work since I joined here, than I have ever done before. Ok, so taking part in SoFoBoMo, which I heard about here has lead to more grey hairs and I am to say the least scared witless (wanted another word there;)) about the peoples photography gig, but I'm still glad I did one and have signed up for the other.

So thanks all, take a bow and a pat on the back for being a pretty decent bunch of people.

Agreed. Welcoming forum even for newbies, and even though I'm not really going anywhere with my photography it really helps to share and see what the response is, helps to get a better understanding of what might be a good photo, also of course looking at others' photography and what the response is to their pics. I glean info from peeping at informative threads, and it's great to think one can ask a question and have friendly informative answers quickly. Had a look at a few other places which didn't look half as friendly, and where constructive criticism wasn't so constructive because of the pro photographers' egos, I'm sure you see what I mean. This is a great spot to hang around since I can't join a club right now. So thanks too :)

Dave that's really nice, this forum could do with more happy cheery posts! Well, you are a fine addition here, well done on finished the SoBoMoFo (its looking damn fine!) and look forward to meeting you over at the Peoples Photography!

very welcoming bunch indeed i'll back that up to - not huge into photography but I like taking snapshot and stuff now and then and I appreciate a really good photo that someone else comes up with... very relaxed and chilled out board - pat on the back for everyone :):)

except for when someone asks for a recomendation for a bridge camera :rolleyes::rolleyes:

hey guys, any tips for buying a bridge camera -- don't buy a bridge, buy a dslr with a decent lens... -- i don't want changeable lens because there not convient -- no you should still buy a dslr because of better quality -- i just want a bridge.. -- telling ya buy a dslr -- i don't want a dslr -- you should buy a dslr -- i want a bridge -- get a dslr with a cheap second hand lens - i'm buying a bridge -- (cycle repeats:p)

but yeah seriously guys - this is just a fun board to be on :) thank you guys :D
