    Hey all!

Got the hostel booked for the weekend of 10/11th, figured with Oxegen on, it maybe something a bit different. What kinda mischief can we get up to? :D

There's about 8 of us going altogether from Dublin. Now, the main question is, how exactly does one get there on public transport? Will it be majorly costly? All poor/recession riddled students. I've been emailing Bus Eireann, Iarnrod Eireann, Citylink and am wondering are there any I'm missing that Clare folk may be in the know with?

Apologies if it all sounds lame :o

Id say get the train to Ennis. Its faster than taking a bus obviously. If you buy your ticket online, you should get it a good bit cheaper than if you buy it at the counter in the station. They seem to be really pushing online ticket purchasing. Also, check to see what it'd cost one way for each trip, before you buy a return ticket. Sounds crazy but it can sometimes be cheaper. When you get to Ennis, you'll need to get Bus Eireann bus to Lahinch. As far as I know, they run every hr from the station, and Id imagine you should have your return ticket for between €10-€15.
Enjoy! and hope ye get nice weather!

As far as I know, there is only one bus a day to Lahinch from Ennis. I may be mistaken but i believe it leaves Ennis around 3pm..And the bus comes back then in the morning at around 8:45.

I could be very wrong but its just a warning to check it out.

The rail tickets ain't as cheap as they used to be online. Not many of the bargains anymore. And you need one of those 15 euro student travel cards to take advantage of the student rate (what a load of bollocks).

The bus from Dublin to Ennis is very cheap (15euro for a single ticket, not sure about return probably not much more) but very slow. About 5 hours altogether with the 30 min stop in Limerick. On the train it's more like 3 and a half hours. I'm not sure I'd want to tackle it early in the day with a bad hangover.
