Wireless Disconnecting Modem

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me.

I'm on a pretty old Netopia with Eircom and my wireless keeps cutting out. Or, rather, my wireless keeps knocking out my DSL Sync.

With ethernet, there's no problem, I can surf all day. But when I use the wireless, it cuts out pretty regularly at two minute intervals. It happens even quicker when I try to watch video. (And I mean actually knocks out the power light on the modem, not just disconnects at the computer.)

Now, I know this is similar to what some of you are experiencing with the Zyxel, but I haven't got a new modem. I've had this same one for years and it's always worked fine.

I don't know what to do. I've tried changing settings, changing passwords, all sorts of ****, but nothing seems to work. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

The wireless cannot knock out the DSL. Unless of course the modem is broken, in which case you need a new modem.

When you say 'use the wireless' what do you actually mean? Do you have the wireless turned on all the time on the netopia? Is it when say a laptop actually connects to the network that the problem occurs?
