Avatar disappeared at end of subscription

My subscription expired today, and I've noticed my avatar, which I uploaded myself (an Occitan cross) is gone. Can I get that back or would I need to re-subscribe?

I'm afraid that custom avatars are only available to subscribers, so you'd have to renew your subscription to get the avatar back.
