Yeah, a rarity these days, Del Piero got the winner.

Juve need to bring in a few players in the summer, a top quality striker to partner Quagliarella(and sign him permanently), could do with a couple of defenders and could probably do with a midfielder too. Do they have the money though? They have a lot of players on loan at the moment and will have to buy a couple of them and replace the ones they don't buy.

The owners have the money. They seem reluctant to spend much of it on players for Juve until the stadium is finished though.

The first priority has to be full backs. Juve have needed those since 2006.

Couple of hairy moments against Cagliari tonight but reckon we deserved the win. Eased a little pressure what with Udinese breathing down our necks. Some very interesting games to come.

I only caught the last 30 mins but it was nervy enough, good to see Cavani among the goals again though. Hopefully Hamsik is ok.

Udinese are on some run, if they keep it up they have a realistic shot at the Scudetto.

The next set of fixtures is huge. If we beat Lazio I think that cements top 4 for us. Then of course you have one of the biggest Milan derbies in recent times. Throw in the Sicilian derby and Roma - Juve and it's a hell of a set of fixtures!

awful first half from Hamsik but amazing second!
the assists for Lavezzi on the penalty and the one for Cavani are real class!

Juve legends played Torino legends in a charity match tonight. It finished 2-2.

Nedved would definitely be better than a lot of Juve's players this season.

So Ibra's ban has been reduced to two games.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s three-match ban has been reduced on appeal, but he’ll still miss the Milan derby.
The Rossoneri lodged a formal appeal after the striker was sent off for jabbing Bari defender Marco Rossi in the ribs.

The Disciplinary Commission did accept it was not a particularly violent gesture, but the three-match ban has been reduced to two.

This still means Ibrahimovic is suspended for the next Serie A game – the Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

That Scudetto showdown is on Saturday April 2.

The Disciplinary Commission also ruled on two other Serie A bans. Parma’s Daniele Galloppa saw his three-game suspension reduced to two.

Lazio defender Stefan Radu also had a third match chalked off his ban.
I have to say I think it's a joke that they reduced his and Radu's bans, I haven't seen what Galloppa did so can't comment on that but to say that violent conduct is an automatic 3 match ban but a punch and a head-but get reduced to 2 is farcical.

We might not have the best anything that you can remotely call top class football but dammit if we won't have the best stadium.

I just hope Chiellini and Buffon aren't sold before they get to play in it!

I just hope Chiellini and Buffon aren't sold before they get to play in it!

I see them staying, mostly because of Andrea Agnelli, it just would not make sense to sell them now when their value is artificially low due to our general inability to play football.

IMO,Buffon is worth in excess of €30m and Chiellini between €20-25M. Buffon is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, people that would say 'not any more' would generally not watch him play regularly and base his value on international and club form. Chiellini is well respected across Europe but he is still seen, perhaps rightly so, as the unfinished product. He's certainly twice the player Chris Smalling is.

The two players are generally undervalued, at the moment, even more so which makes them irreplaceable as the money gain could not finance adequate reinforcement.

On an unrelated note, I hope none of Pepe,Grygera,Traore or Motta play for Juventus in the new stadium.

    Wow.

    2-0 down, 4 minutes later it's 2-2.

Cavani now the highest goalscorer in a single season in Napoli's history. Delighted, what a sensational player.

Wow, that's identical to the non-goal in the England vs Germany match. That was a mile over the line

    ...and it's justice seconds later. That's a horrible O.G. 3-2 to Lazio.

    Definite goal. Harsh.

    EDIT: Oooh, 3-2.

Lazio players acting like morons again just like the Roma game. More interested in rowing with the opposition than trying to score a goal. Absolute gutless cowardly whores

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,658 ✭✭✭✭Peyton Manning

Full time. Game of the season across any league right there, had absolutely everything (apart from competent defending!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,778 ✭✭✭Pauleta

Bunch of cowards, pelt them with rotten fruit

What a fantastic game of football though. Next time some moronic Dunphy re-cycler says Serie A is dull, point them to this game.

Milan v Udinese was a better game imo, not by much but it was better. Hopefully Napoli can keep up their scudetto challenge and actually give Milan a bit of competition.

They've some fantastic attacking players in Hamsik, Lavezzi, and Cavani. It's their leaky defense that'll kill them(Milan's defense has been boss compared to the rest of the league). It was probably naive to think an 800 year old Canavarro would sort that out. :p

Nothing else on TV today so threw on ESPN, what a great game that was :D

Also, in a league full of 4-3-1-2s and midfield diamonds and what have you, the way Napoli set about playing is very refreshing. With the 3 CBs, wing-backs and that attacking trident upfront. Fantastic to watch. Near suicidal at the back :)

Bit harsh, he's only 29! You're not confusing him with his dinosaur older brother by any chance? Today was so surprising because these were the 2nd (Lazio) and 3rd (Napoli) best defences in Serie A. Love when that happens - two mean defences collide resulting in a goal fest :)

Hahaha, jesus christ you're right, he's playing in the middle east nowadays. Had no idea, thought he had gone back home after Juve. I guess the millions he's making are aiding those geriatric limbs. :p

A disposizione: Lobont, Cassetti, Greco, Rosi, Brighi, Taddei, Borriello.

    JUVENTUS

A disposizione: Manninger, Sorensen, Grygera, Salihamidzic, Giandonato, Toni, Libertazzi.

Motta is starting. Sack Delneri now.

How has De Rossi been performing for Roma this season actually? Haven't watched them at all really.

Average enough, but that's been Roma in a nutshell this season. He's had a tough time off the pitch (divorce that basically happened in the newspapers) and has had a lot of stick from the fans. Although that's supposedly more down to politics as he sided with Ranieri when the fans turned on him more than his actual performances. Supposedly has his heart set on leaving this summer, although I can't see it myself. Might jump ship if/when Totti goes, although he'll probably continue as he looks in good form again (Totti that is).

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 584 ✭✭✭dizzywizlw

Krasic just put Juventus 1-0 with a belter, swashbuckling stuff going forward and woeful defending, Roma could easily come back to win.

A very good ame of football :)

Edit:65mins Pepe misses the mother of all sitters, had literally 20 seconds to pick his spot. Awful player.

This story is starting to look very familiar.

Edit:74mins Matri makes it 2-0, Juve hit a team on the counter :o

    Great win for Juve.

Typical of this season though. Win away to the big teams and lose at home to the small teams.

That was probably Grosso's best performance since 2006. He set up both goals.

It was good to see Bonucci step up to lead the defence in the absence of Chiellini and Buffon.

If Sorensen was fit he should've started instead of Motta.

Thumbs up to Delneri for changing the formation successfully though.

As Del Piero has just said on facebook, "Grandi ragazzi... Grande vittoria!!!".

Great Win yes, but Roma were profligate in front of goal and Juve were generally poor IMO. Not there yet.the 4-1-4-1 worked out quite well though

I thought Juve were unspectacular but good. Once the first goal went in they never looked like conceding.

Storari was MOM. Two, maybe three saves that anyone else would probably have let in.

    Pepe is poor as usual.

Krasic needs to look up and pick out a colleague once in a while.

Yeah he had a fantastic game. Its a shame he saved that Totti volley though.
