Ranieri has to go. I watched a stream of the game. Fcking rubbish performance. Mass rebuilding needed.

Regarding the Inter loss of form, one thing is certain - if the group of players cannot perform for either Gasperini or Ranieri, then surely a large proportion of the blame must land at the players feet. A manager can only do so much. One can hardly blame Ranieri for the dire form of Sneijder, or Cambiasso, who seems to be offering little protection to his back four. It's in the middle that Inter were traditionally strong, so under-performing here is their main problem. They just don't have enough threat on the flanks. I suppose injuries to the likes of Alvarez and Stankovic havent helped. Add to this the let down that has been Diego Forlan and the sale of Motta, and you can't be all that surprised at Inter's inconsistency.

Solid performance from Napoli tonight, Lavezzi's goal was different class. Worrying that Campagnaro went off injured, will have to see what the diagnosis is. Sets us up nicely for Tuesday and a small game with Chelsea. My friend in Campania got me two tickets, can't waaaait :-D

Comfortable in the end and a great warm up for Tuesday. Only 5 points of 3rd now, and if Inter continue to collapse it removes one of the more dangerous opponents from the CL race. When we beat them next Sunday it will be a huge result for both teams.
    FYP ;)

Juve a goal down early against Catania, this makes me happy.

Think they've 11 Italians in the starting line which is very rare these days at a top club in any league.

Pirlo scored a free kick to level it up for Juve

Unbelievable game so far. A lot easier to get at Juve without Vidal there bossing the midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,950 ✭✭✭Pinturicchio

I can't imagine why Padoin was picked to start on the right when Caceres and Litchsteiner are on the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

Juve winning now, chiellini header. Been looking dangerous from Pirlos free kicks, but christ, what was the goalie doing there?

edit: 3-1 now, Quag. Surely they'll go on and win, and be 2 points clear.

Good comeback. Can't wait for Milan away next weekend.

Great results for Napoli, Roma and Inter in the late kick-offs.

The battle for third is getting more and more interesting, though still nothing like in La Liga where 2 points separate 4th and 10th!

This headline isn't looking too clever now:
Remember when Italy ruled Europe? Arsenal and Chelsea should have nothing to fear now...

i can't find an official twitter account for either Lazio or Napoli to get the lineups for this evenings matches.

If you get the lineups can you post the link to where you got it as well as the teams?

    Thanks.

According to the Lazio FB page:

Lazio-Fiorentina: convocati/called-up players: Berardi, Bizzarri, Marchetti; Biava, Diakitè, Garrido, Lulic, Sbraga, Scaloni, Zauri, Candreva, Gonzalez, Hernanes, Ledesma, Mauri, Zampa; Kozak, Klose, Alfaro.

    Suspected line up:

LAZIO (4-2-3-1): Marchetti; Scaloni, Biava, Diakitè, Garrido; Ledesma, Gonzalez; Mauri, Hernanes, Lulic; Klose.
A disp.: (Bizzarri, Zauri, Sbraga, Zampa, Candreva, Alfaro, Kozak) All. Reja

    Napoli v Inter line-ups:

    Napoli: 1 De Sanctis; 14 Campagnaro, 28 Cannavaro, 6 Aronica; 11 Maggio, 23 Gargano, 88 Inler, 18 Zuniga; 20 Dzemaili; 22 Lavezzi; 7 Cavani.
    Substitutes: 83 Rosati, 2 Grava, 21 Fernandez, 85 Britos, 8 Dossena, 29 Pandev, 16 Vargas.

    Inter: 1 Julio Cesar; 37 Faraoni, 6 Lucio, 25 Samuel, 55 Nagatomo; 4 Zanetti, 5 Stankovic, 19 Cambiasso; 10 Sneijder; 9 Forlan, 22 Milito.
    Substitutes: 12 Castellazzi, 2 Cordoba, 17 Palombo, 18 Poli, 20 Obi, 7 Pazzini, 28 Zarate.

I expect an easy Napoli win and surely Ranieri will be sacked if that happens. Why Stankovic is starting ahead of Poli is beyond me.

Inter are filthy. Samuel should be off the field by now. Napoli need to be a little more incisive in attack. Lavezzi has been a collosus so far

  • Registered Users Posts: 695 ✭✭✭TheSpecialOne

Lazio 1 up Klose!...Inter are holding out for now...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,522 ✭✭✭dor83

Good finish by Lavezzi, Napoli deserve the lead and will probably score more.

Not just based on this game but think Dzemaili is a better option than Hamsik to play up front with Lav and Cav. He's got more guile than Hamsik imo, which is important in games were teams defend deep against them, where they need that bit more intelligence to open teams up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,522 ✭✭✭dor83

Aronica off, not so sure it deserved a straight red.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭Rekop dog

Certain Inter players should be ashamed of themselves considering the money they're on and the commitment levels shown recently. Genuinely abject and completely inexcusable!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,183 ✭✭✭UnknownSpecies

Great goal by Lavezzi tonight, hope he wont attract too much interest from bigger clubs after this seasons performances!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,611 ✭✭✭carlop

Lavezzi is Napoli's best player, and without him the team suffers a lot.

He's world class, and unfortunately bigger teams are going to realise and start to sniff around.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Rome derby next weekend, should be a good one.

Lazio playing pretty well (al be it a bit inconsistent) but not sure who'll be in the manager seat, Roma missing a few players,...

February passes by and he's back in the goals.

Ibra 1-0 away to Palermo, 30 mins gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,643 ✭✭✭Phoenix Park

Hat-trick for Ibra inside 34 mins. Fish in a barrel. Looks like he could get 8 this evening the way he's playing!

Was worried about this game beforehand, but Milan have been brilliant. Hard to see the league going any other way with Milan peaking so strongly.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭Rekop dog

1-1 in the Juve Chievo game. OG by bonucci there. Hold chievo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,950 ✭✭✭Pinturicchio

What a load of bollocks. As soon as De Ceglie scored, the Juve players decided they had won the match. Awful attitude. They need to cop the **** on.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭Rekop dog

Has any team ever not won a league having not lost a game all season? Juve love a draw, think the unbeaten record is a bit of a hindrance at this stage.

Napoli getting a run together for that all important 3rd place. I really hope they make it, could make all the difference in keeping players for next year, Serie A needs to keep it's quality.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Aye, I hope they get 3rd place too. Lavezzi and Cavani continuing their fine form with goals in an entertaining win over Parma there.

    Derby day :)

edit: Red for Stekelenburg and penalty for Lazio, 6 minutes in.

In the 78-79 season Perugia went unbeated but finished 3 points behind Milan, it would have been the only title in thier history.

Entertaining derby so far, Borini equalises for 10 man Roma. 1-1.

Went online to back a red card in the match at evens but didnt get it on in time before the pen & red card in the 6th min, so I put the money on Borini for next goal scorer at 7-1 instead for once my slow laptop worked in my favour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Mauri makes it 1-2 for Lazio, Hernanes just missed an absolute sitter to make it 3.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

30 mins gone, Inter losing at home to Catania 1-0.

Really should have put money on this -_-

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Do Roma have a new stadium now??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,477 ✭✭✭grenache

I thought Lazio would have fallen away by now but fair play, getting rid of that waste of space Cisse was the best thing they ever did. Udinese are in freefall of late.

And Napoli making a decent surge, an incorrectly awarded penalty dispatched at the second attempt by Cavani, and an offside second goal from Lavezzi. With that kind of luck we might just be ok against Chelsea

The run in for third spot is going to be as entertaining as the battle between Juve and Milan for the scudetto. Which Milan will win. There's a softness about Juve that they need to fix quickly.

Juve a goal down to Bologna at half time. Big 2nd half needed for title challenge.

And an unsurprising draw there once again.

Inter back to winning ways tonight, beating Chievo 2-0. Ranieri is lucky to have a job after nine winless games. They left it late though, Samuel scored a header after 87 minutes, Milito sealed it in the last minute. Did anybody watch it? Were Inter any better tonight?

Napoli scored 6 again tonight, against Cagliari. A nice way to warm up for Chelsea. Good to see Cavani being rested, Mazzari brought him on for the last 30 mins. What's even more encouraging is that they had five different scorers - Maggio, Cannavaro, Hamsik, Lavezzi, Gargano and an own goal. Great to see goals coming from all over the field.

    Avanti Napoli!
