GF broke our mixer tap last night, the lever that you move left and right to have the water coming out the hose or the taps broke. Anybody know somewhere to get a new lever(with the nut attachment etc..) or any place that does nice and cheap chrome mixer taps?

I have been to Davies etc....

what was wrong with the taps in davies... It all depends on the style of tap you want. This style is usually victorian.

I was just telling a girl on this site the other day that vogue bathrooms do a cheap range of quality taps called carmina. If you ring Doug on 086 172 3734 he will tell you if he has a pair.

    His address is
    unit 7 northwest bus park
    ballycoolin
    Dublin

If you mention that you know me through work i have done for you he might give you a trade price rather than retail. Its up to you but he is cheap and the product is good.

    Ray.

May I just suggest that you have a look in BnQ for a mixer tap.

They are doing 50% off certain kitchen and bath mixer taps right now.

We got a lovely single hole long neck chrome mixer tap for our kitchen last weekend, got it for half price, only 50 euro and it works a treat.I,ll take a pic of it later on and post.

The exact same tap was allmost 150 euro in several of the kitchen places that we looked in.

100 euro saved and in my wallet.:D

P.S-Homebase are also doing a 50% off sale next weekend as far as I know.

    Actually,its not,it operates at only 0.5 bar.;)

Its an Auckland Monobloc chrome mixer tap.We got it for only 50 euro.BnQ were selling lots of different bathroom and kitchen mixer taps at more than 50% off prices.

Tap is on page 61 of the BnQ Kitchen catalogue, and we even checked with the kitchen specialist lad out in BnQ before buying it.
Actually a 60% saving over the normal BnQ price list. Its down as 114 euro in the catalogue.

It actually works alot better than the previous tap we had, water flow is miles better now.

Most of the taps that the kitchen places are selling need 3 bar to work.

Most of the taps from In House operate at 3 bar.I have several kitchen shop catalogues here, including In House and most of the taps are 3 bar.

We had this 1 from In House recently (Ital Pepper) and it was a 3 bar tap,and it was pretty hopeless when we went to use it from thr very 1st time.

The lever broke after about the 5th time we used it.Going to bring it back to In House and ask for my money back. Not worth 150 euro.

Cool. if you need a number of a local lad there that fits them give me a pm and I will let you know. Thanks

ps when you phoned Vogue did you ask for Doug. Because the irony is that the tap that you bought in EEC was mostly likely supplied by his company.;)

You deserve a brucy bonus for fitting it yourself. It can be a bitch of a job. Well done.

I think it’s better to buy a brand new one. Too many varieties of bath taps are available in the market today, l know it is quite difficult to chose the best from so many of them, but make sure that they are manufactured by a well known company. Choose the design based on the interiors of your bathroom.
