Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hard disk problem

    i there a program for testing and fixing ide hard drive errors
    i need to be able to boot it from the dvd-rom drive as i've no operting system

    see hardrive diagnosis section.
    if you wanna use the net get a linux ;livecd.
    see here http://www.livecdlist.com/
    you can use run linux,browse the web from a linux cdrom.
    i find linux Mint good,fits on a cdr ,easy to use for a nonexpert
    you are gonna need to use a working pc, to download and burn a cd image.
    use imgburn free program,.use burn image, sEor burn iso, to burn an iso to a cdr, that makes a bootable cd.
    GO to bios, set cdrom/dvd =o,= 1st boot device,= cdrom/dvdrom.

    i think theres special test programs you can download from seagate or wd western digital websites to check hardrive functions.IF its a seagate or wd hardrive.

    Most of those hard disk diagnostic programs (the Western Digital ones anyway) are actually contained on the Ultimate Boot CD. It's an excellent disk to have handy.

    Do a full format in ntfs.You could buy a new hd and use the present one as a slave drive d. set jumper to slave mode.500meg =65euro approx peats ,maplins.
