Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If anything it will be the South Americans allocated more spots, all 5 reached knock out stages, with 4 in the quarters. Frankly I'd be more worried about Uraguay going through.

Nah theres only 10 teams in South America so they wont be getting more than 5 spots. Theres 50+ in Africa. With FIFA's one country - one vote policy the South Americans dont have a huge amount of say in these things.

    Why?
2 or 3 draws in the group stage, maybe qualify for the 2nd round and then get knocked out there?

Nah, id rather watch decent teams.

Like a 7th or 8th African team?

    Once again.

    Boom baby

Last time I read that as Baby Boom and thought thats the last thing they need.:pac:

Anyone else think the ball moved very stangely from the free kick? Seemed to swerve the "wrong" way compared to the way it was spinning.

Because I'm Irish! And I love the build up when Ireland are in the World Cup.

Anyway Ireland have a decent team. They were unlucky in the qualifier.

In fairness Ireland are no worse than alot of the teams we saw in this WC.

And the ball they're using here is a joke. See the way Forlan's freekick wobbled in the air? The movement was totally unnatural, the ball went one way then the other, like one of those cheap plastic balls you used to kick around when you were four.

Cavani is crap. Get him off.

What a strike from forlan. He's a total legend.

    Great game

Suarez has been pretty anonymous in this match

Edit: And just when I saw that he has a great chance

'Cup Champions' ball. Usually Orange or white. Tending to hit you on your inside thigh on a cold day, slightly deflated. OUUUUCCCCHHHHH!!!

    Great game. Full of action

He's been springing the offside trap fantastically well to be fair to him. His timing unreal

Or the horrible "ppiiiiinnngg" noise they would make when they hit anything.

I am all for the reason behind a ball that will cause keepers problems and lead to more goals/more exciting matches but the outfield players have to be able to control it to some degree for it to be effective.

So much better. Loving this game so far

    Why not, Forlan.

Suarez' constant offsides are getting really annoying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,595 ✭✭✭baldbear

Come on Forlan more goals ya little divil!!! This is a better game than the Dutch one. Very open and not dirty. Extra time looming?
I feel Ghana are going to have there hearts broken.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

This is good for Ghana, Appiah will get them in control.

I can see Ghana nicking this, they are gone more offensive and Uruguay are puching on, think it could be a catch on the break type goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,595 ✭✭✭baldbear

Did a Ghana player just kind of lie down on the ground to block a shot??

Boateng shocking there, he delivers quality and it is game over.

I'm liking this game more than the earlier one and it looks like we're in for 30 more minutes.

    Come on Ghana!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Forlan is the man for Extra-Time. Scored winners against Liverpool and Fulham in E.T. if I remember correctly. Come on Diego.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,537 ✭✭✭joseph brand

Suarez is some grafter. Getting back, putting in good challenges, winning the ball and then going forward looking for it.

He should have scored, when he belted it at Kingson. Could have bent it round instead.

Ghana look stronger and fitter to me. That's a concern.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,398 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

That might have been given if he didnt make such a meal of it.

Some very tired legs out there. Uraguay looking dangerous with Suarez coming down the right.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

Ghana having much the better of it now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,398 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd
