Hi all, basic scenario is the I need to deck about 15m2(3m*5m). Have excavated roughly about 6" down. Can I just pour about 2"-3" concrete as foundation to save me hassle of weed control fabric, levelling, etc. and work from there?
    Thanks, Anto

So you want to pour a slab and sit the deck on top?
You will need to pour that amount in 2 goes to avoid cracking.
You will also need to tamp down the soil before filling with hardcore.

How are you planning on fixing the deck to the base? Id advise against sitting the timber directly on the slab.

just make up your frame and sink your posts in cement then fix the frame to the posts. you may also need to put some extra pieces in around the middle of the frame in cement to keep it sturdy
