Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would anyone out there have any ideas on sourcing a right hand exhaust for a 1978 honda cb 500 t. Exhausts for the cb 500 4 seem to be available but not for the twin which I guess wasnt a big seller. A Google search doesnt seem to turn anything up other than very poor condition exhausts on ebay.

    Any assistance very gratefully recvieved.

You could contact David Silver Spares who are Honda specialists and might be able to help.

How much do you want to spend? Is the bike a keeper, or is it 'just passing through'?
The reason I ask is that OEM Honda exhausts of that vintage will be like hen's teeth. I would say that even Silver's may have a problem sourcing them.
We used to have a '78 CB750KZ, (work runaround bike), but Honda had ceased making exhausts for it (the OEM was 4 into 4)
Silver could only supply a 4 into 2, or a 4 into 1 that would suit.
We were seriously looking at getting a custom stainless kit made by this crowd http://www.gazbike.demon.co.uk/ but the boss sold the bike to a customer one day.
If what you have is a keeper, it might be worth contacting gazbike.

Thanks chippy this idea hadnt even crossed my mind. It is only the straight muffler part I need and only on one side so the cost (fingers crossed) might not be so bad. I will see what they quote and will post. Thanks again for the suggestion.

I'd go the same way as previous reply...get the pipe made in stainless steel by local engineer, who is able to bend the pipes, then fit slip over mufflers of your choice. I'm doing the same myself as the quality of s.h pipes...if you can get...is naff.

I found these guys good and they have the schematic parts diagrams on the site with the frame and engine numbers to check the model. I've bought small bits like master cylinder seals, carb parts etc.
